Laser Measure - measuring for kitchen

We need to measure up ourselves for a kitchen, we have plenty of different height ceilings and nooks and crannies, should we use a laser measure tool and are there any you recommend?

Or is there some type of service where people will come and only measure for you (don't need a kitchen design, just good measurements!)

Thanks very much

If you have a fitter in mind I'd get them to measure it for you

Good idea. That way, they are accountable for the outcome.

Just use a normal tape measure.

Not all tape measures actually measure the same, I have several and between them is nearly 3mm of difference.

EDIT: Of course laser measures have their own inbuilt margin of error too! (edited)

Think our Bosch laser measure was about £80 years ago. Nowadays there are loads of no-names on Amazon with 1000+ 4-5 star reviews, at around £20. As said, leave final fitting measurements to a pro. But these are a nice to have. I used mine to work out the area of the garden, to help decide which lawnmower to buy.
