About this deal

It was £1.49 before but now even cheaper £0.90 for 5 months then £7.99

Note: I don't think this is for new customer only deal because I already have lebara sim, I used the same account to buy this.
Lebara More details at
Lebara has currently Get 50% off for 3 months, the referrer gets up to £50 campaign, if you want to use it you can do so from this .

If you are currently with Lebara, have fewer than 4 SIMs to the same email address, want to use this plan and still want keep your current number (eventually), here are the porting steps as per my previous comment:
  • buy this plan (wait and get a new Lebara SIM, keep safe for later)
  • request for a PAC code from your existing Lebara plan
  • get a free alternate provider SIM (e.g.: ASDA PAYG SIM, or Three PAYG SIM) (I've been told that Three have eSIM option during checkout process too!)
  • submit the PAC to the alternate provider, to move your number from Lebara to another provider
  • once the number has ported to the alternate provider, wait 1 day for the number to fully register on their system
  • ask for a PAC from this alternate provider
  • provide this PAC to Lebara (via this Lebara form, or web chat, or call Lebara's customer services), to move the number from alternate provider to Lebara (this new plan).

Anyone know how long you get to activate this please? Current contact up in August
    Bolto911's avatar
30 days to activate sim from time of purchase.
  2. adambainzs's avatar
Can you use this in the USA etc?
    charles_roma's avatar
You can call USA as part of the free 100 MIN, that's what the list is about
Call FROM UK to that list of countries

BUT.. if you want to know about ROAMING with it in the USA .... then No.. as far as I know.

That's why I have my THREE PAYG for the USA

I use Lebara for EU and India roaming.

The free Roaming in India makes a huge difference to some of us and well worth it if planning a trip there. (edited)

Is there still a free PAYG sim that does not need topping up for porting out and porting back to Lebara again?
    aw22's avatar
I used to use three, but started using vodafone now (free to order too).
Changed 4 sims last month from Lebara to Vodafone and back to Lebara without issue. (edited)

Also 12GB avail from MSE at same 90p for months 1-5 then £6.90 after. For those that don’t need 15GB. (edited)
    innocent's avatar
Helpful comment. One might think why give up extra 3GB when this deal is available! but then your suggestion would be cheaper per month after initial 5 months if 12GB would suffice.

Can you switch to this if you're already with them and keep your old number?

Is there a way to activate mms?
    KodaBear's avatar
MMS Is already active. Just make sure you have the Lebara APN saved and active in your phone's settings.

Remember you need to top up with cash credit to send one though. They aren't inclusive with your bundle and cost extra. 45p each I believe.

Is it me or has the Lebara network reception / data got a lot worse last few months? Used to be spot on! Anyone else had any issues? (edited)
    KodaBear's avatar
Vodafone’s 3G switch off didn’t go as smoothly as they hoped. It’s increased network congestion as well as led people to drop down to 2G randomly quite a lot as well. A lot of work needs to be done to get things perfect again, but they aren’t keen on spending money on doing so as they’re awaiting the final approval for their merger with Three which would change their priorities a lot.

Would love to get this but speeds are so slow compared to Smarty for me
    valuz91's avatar
It was the complete opposite for me Smarty wouldn't even load Wikipedia, while on Lebara I can get 5G most of the time.
I guess with these companies it's worth checking coverage in your area, but also do a real-life check.
  9. duckmuffin's avatar
Don't understand how OP managed to add this to their existing SIM: I would love to do this.
    saver12345's avatar
The OP mentions using their existing account to buy the SIM, but as far as I can tell they haven’t added it to an existing SIM. I don’t think that’s possible with these deals. Happy to be corrected though!
  10. Thebossman's avatar
Just a word of caution .
If you are using pixel phones on Lebara it does not work with 5G. You will only get 4g signal. It's a known issue but both Google and lebara seems to blame each other.
    poops101's avatar
I'm on pixel 7 pro, and on lebara as well, I do get 5g tho (edited)

How long can I keep this sim not active? Thinking about switching to this once my 6 months is up on my other Lebara sim.

30 days from the point of order

8 quid for 15gb is a poor deal... Most folks don't want the faff of swapping twice a year.

Booo , where is the 6th month? Lebara playing games
    innocent's avatar
Playing games! Yes and no. Honeymoon deal duration is 5 months but the price is 0.90p per month as opposed to 99🍦😋 (edited)
  15. premierfella's avatar
There's gonna be a lot of disappointed MSEers if Lebara ever stop these generous "new" customer deals or tighten up on repeat usage! Good to see this back sub-£1 where it belongs
    innocent's avatar
I don't think MSE or Uswitch deals for that matter are going to stop in foreseeable future because LEBARA craftily do them as affiliate deals, till LEBARA sells off! (edited)

I went with one of these over a year ago and felt like I was stealing from them so have been paying £6.95 a month since, which still feels like I'm stealing from them heat for the deal - I'd go again but just can't be bothered.
    Animal5865's avatar
We need more people like you to pay full whack to these big companies so we can steal off them. (edited)

My 99p deal finishes in June, happy days! In 5 months I’ll switch again, no biggie. I miss the 1p deals though and I wish they hadn’t introduced 30 days. £10 would’ve set me right last year (edited)
    Ragdoll_Pigeon's avatar
I found £20 on the street end of last year and instantly thought "that's my entire mobile bill paid for the year"!

If only they did eSIMs! All I can find out is they are coming this year…

Does anyone else do an esim offer currently?
  20. Masca's avatar
Hi. I'm (more than!) likely doing something dumb, but upon clicking on Buy, I'm getting the message "Plan cannot be purchased". IIRC, I've only ever purchased 3 Lebara SIMs previously, and besides that, I haven't even entered any personal data and I don't have a Lebara SIM in the handset at present. I've deleted cookies and same result. Any ideas? Many thanks!

Does anyone know if i can add this deal to an existing one i signed up to with Lebara a few weeks ago (which was 3 months at £1.50)
    innocent's avatar
Easiest is to cancel that and sign up for this where you can activate the sim card any time within 30 days.

Ugh, I just bought 4 of the Lebara 5GB 5G data, Unlimited mins / text, 100 International mins to 42 countries - 30 Day Rolling (Price For 3 Months) for £0.99 each. Do I have a chance to transfer to this deal - I've only activated 1 of them...
    finknottle's avatar
Just don’t activate them, and Lebara will refund you the initial payment after a month or so. Cancel auto-renew on the one you’ve activated. And then order this deal via a new email address if need be.
  25. Aariyan's avatar
MSE means? Sorry if I sound noob
  26. aegj2002's avatar
Great deal, just two questions... do I need to cancel after 5 months? And do they have eSim?
    Wammer's avatar
No, you can carry on at full price. No they don't yet.

How can I change my plan? (lebara.co.uk)
I know that is about changing plan, but everything I have read in the past suggests Lebara will refund an unused one just by contacting them (a few months ago they were still refunding automatically after 30 days if the SIM card remained unregistered - I don't know if that still happens though).

52725764-U3zqk.jpgHere's how you roam outside the EU.
    blonk's avatar
You can roam without a bundle yet do need credit on your account though
  31. Swarfega's avatar
Awesome. I need a data SIM for two trips aboard. Sod, paying Vodafone for EU travel data!

Does this offer defiantly expire at the end of this month? I don't quite need this yet, so wanting to purchase as late as possible. (edited)
    itsmewhoami's avatar
You can purchase towards the end of the month, before the deal end date. And then activate within 30 days of your order.

The "offer" will still be valid.
  32. Guvi's avatar
Does this have free eu roaming ?
    ohdearohdear's avatar
    Yes
  33. OddSocks1072's avatar
Do you have to keep it beyond the 5 months?

Going to Corfu at the end of the month for a couple of weeks and looking for a cheap sim to take with me to just use the data. Don’t fancy paying EE’s £25 extra to use my data abroad.
    Wammer's avatar
I had no problem in Tenerife in December and February. I couldn't get Smarty to work at all in Rhodes.

You can cancel it at any time, eg after one month, by turning off auto renewal. (edited)

Couple of months back the same package was for £1 but for 6 months and rest all the terms and package same.

    KeyboardKitten's avatar
Believe it’s turned off, you have to request a normal sim, then you can convert it online etc.

By any chance does this have USA roaming or is there any other network that offers USA ROAMING for free ?
    Thanks in advance
    KodaBear's avatar
    This doesn't, no.

Three PAYG Gives you free US Roaming. You can get a SIM Preloaded with a 10GB Allowance plus mins and texts included for about £8 or so online. You can use that whole allowance over there at no extra cost.

If you have Virgin Media broadband, you can get a cheap O2 Volt SIM with free roaming in the US too. £6.99 for a month of usage would be the starting price with them.
  37. Lellow's avatar
Is there any way of getting Lebara SIMs without committing to a contract with regular direct debits?

Eg someone could buy a SIM, put eg £4.50 on it for 5 months data/SMS/phone calls then give it out to poor people who don't have a phone number.
    DaddyPig's avatar
You can pay by PayPal. Then cancel the payments to Lebara, then the number will become inactive as the payments have stopped. Or you can turn off recurring payments. (edited)

Got this for 99p last month. Fuming.
    innocent's avatar
You can take remedial measures to minimise any further losses but please don't ask me what. I have read about it somewhere on this long thread. Fuming, today's weather doesn't help either
  39. Babyninja's avatar
Thanks OP. If I order it now, how many days to I have to activate it?
    KodaBear's avatar
30 days from order to activation max
