Pretty sure it comes with a charging dock as standard, but additional ones can be bought separately for docking options in multiple rooms

Not this version. They've unbundled the charging dock do get the price lower

This is one of the worst tablets ever released frankly. It's slow, the screen is worse than the Tab S7 from nearly half a decade ago, the design looks like a children toy, it's horrendously buggy even according to the usually shilly reviewers and it costs £400. Doesn't even have the 7 years of OS update support; it's only getting up to Android 16 + 2 more of security.

The extra £100 off is almost useless, there's nothing on the store worth buying to sell to reduce the price. At best you'll get like £50 back.

Other than the fact it is Android I would take the £349 Ipad 10th gen every single time even though the ipad doesn't have a laminated display. For myself I'd take the ipad and instead of using YouTube revanced I'd get Altstore and use a similar no ad YouTube app even if it's annoying to do, because fundamentally the ipad is so much quicker and costs less! As bad as it is, once plonked on the kitchen table it gets used, it's not laggy for videos and browsing

I brought one a month ago when they were doing it with the dock for 429 and I get 10% cashback so just under 400. I brought to replace a Google hub on my desk and a honor x9 I was using for videos

Have to say some of the reviews are doing it an injustice , I think with the store credit it's a decent offer.

Some things I wish I knew, the docked mode is actually nothing at all like Google hubs and my biggest disappointment, things like doorbell notifications are just a notification and don't show the video live. It doesn't have a power button just a fingerprint reader and volume buttons , cases are just silly price for something half decent

The good, dock works well, adds a decent bit of volume and sound quality for YouTube videos and music. Feels good in the hand, some nice user interface with Google.

For my use case it does exactly what I want it too do so no issues here. Yes there are tablets very similar for much less but there enough difference to justify for certain use cases

This tablet made me buy a Home Hub Max...

I bought an iPad Air 5th gen for the same price sealed off eBay instead. A much better shout. 🏻

    Terrible tablet and deal

This has always been overpriced, you can get better for half the price.

I know it's overpriced, I just posted it thinking someone might have £100 Google store credit and can get a decent tablet for £299.

Apple launched all the new "I pad's" yesterday and made the cheapest one $349/£349 so it kind of screwed Google's plans. lets hope Google Price match them.

Yes, Android Police posted an article saying the same thing, the new iPad is better in every way androidpolice.com/app…ut/

I've had a few Android tablets over the years, they always feel like big phones rather than a Tablet OS. Have to admit I have never owned an iPad or used them much, but the consensus seems to agree they are better. Android tablets make sense at the lower end of the market, you can't get an iPad for £100 (new).

Now the iPad has dropped to £349 this tablet is dead. Own a pixel fold and have had nearly every Google device in some format including the awesome pixel c tablet so no hate. I actually quite liked the docking option until I realised it can’t do what the home max can do and isn’t good as a tablet! (edited)

Love my pixel C, still use it after almost 10 years and it's quite fast

    It's a good concept but half-baked product.
Here's hoping Google don't abandon it and release a more polished gen 2.

Good concept, half baked, sounds like a Google product!

Gen 2 is probably already on the drawing board at the Google Mothership.

So as this seems to be the Android tablet NOT to have, what should I be looking at for this price or less that's not an iPad
    basergorkobal's avatar
There are a number of options fro China in this price range. The Honor x9 is decent and both Lenovo and Xiaomi have decent equivalents.
If you want something more premium Samsung Tab s9 or s9 fe are both a good bet. S9 being closer to iPad pro in specs.
If you time it right Samsung can work out cheaper with trade in.
The last deal on s9 for £333 with buds2 Pro was spectacular.
