I enjoyed this game so much. Screw the haters holding onto the past. It's great now on PS5 and Series X.

Finished it on release (on a good PC to be fair) no real issues. Since the patch and expansion - unless already played to death, it's worth another blast. About mid-point on another run currently.

    Hardly a deal

Damn it where is the PC option! lol

You can play on Steam for up to 2hrs 'free' (refund window) for any game.

it’s been free for ages - i’m not sure with the X/S, but the xbox one version could be played in full by just making new accounts and getting the trial again and again, and then just switching back to your main account

    Junk don't bother

Don’t be a gonk. This is not the game that was initially released. Even then, I’d rather we had companies like ProjektRed being ambitious and trying new things. And when it doesn’t come off spend two years fixing/updating and then releasing a hefty DLC.

Anyway, not really a deal, but the original game disc can be had for around £15. Easily 60-70hrs of content in there. (edited)

    I think/hope after March 28 the trial won't need PS+

5 hours will give you a flavour of the game

One of my favourite games of recent years. Played about 140 hours and completed all of the NCPD missions and all quests. Immensely enjoyable story.

Still to play Phantom Liberty .

5 hours of playtime? So basically just the free demo that they've had since 2022 then?

    There was a demo??

    masterpiece after updates/ and dlc
    Soulwaxuk81's avatar
Above average after the updates and dlc in my opinion. My biggest criticism is still the lack of immersion, I find the city lifeless . Hardly anything to interact with, ai repeating the same voice lines over and over again. I think if they had nailed that aspect as GTA did then it would have elevated the experience for me. Either way, huge improvement on the trash they delivered on release.

Hate free play days, just give us a demo we can play when free and then can decide if want to buy games

it's like the demo industry doesn't exist

I love this game (currently on my second playthrough) but 5 hours of play is silly. That's barely enough to even finish the prologue. I suppose the goal here is to leave it on a bit of a cliffhanger before the game properly opens up, but the prologue isn't the best representative of the game. It's great narratively and I love Jackie (who doesn't?), but half the fun of the game for me is the skilltree, cyberware and all the crazy builds you can create.

Ah well whatever, heat from me anyway. Stay preem, chooms!

    Better than nothing

Best game on ps4/ps5. Can't find a game I'm enjoying as much as cyberpunk. Game was a master piece like the witcher 3. Go poles 😄
    capalot03's avatar
You really haven’t played other better games have you
  16. MrFunkE's avatar
A genuinely great game. I missed all the release drama but wow, I have enjoyed the 5 endings I got so far and dying for some additional DLC

I am probably the only one but I think this game looks ugly. The graphics are amazing but it has that distinct feel os congestion. Dark. Grimy. Oily. Ugh.

It looks like poland in the future, where everyone speaks in a stupid american accent.

Its also very slow and clunky to get into. Possibly the most trite game I have ever played.
    uthypranks_TV's avatar
its supposed to be dystopian. that’s what you’re feeling.

    Hmmm ahoy there!
  19. lamplight579's avatar
This was a joke when it was released on Series X, looked like an N64 game. The fact they're still offering free trials to try to recover some sales speaks volumes.
    Just.Wondering's avatar
Lol, the game has been sorted, plus the DLC received great reviews.
  20. Nonamenonumber's avatar
the witcher was never forced to give a free trial

Nice recentlybought a PS5 on that Amazon Prime deal. Look forward to trying this.
  22. AuntyAbortion's avatar
I will never forget the disappointment of playing the PS4 version on release day. I'd bought this instead of Demon Souls for my brand new PS5.

You could explode a car on PS4 and a floating wreck would be left behind with no physics. I saved my game there and never went back.

When the PS5 version launched I opened my save game, and the wreck had physics now! It fell to the floor! And the traffic moved around it.

Very impressive stuff but I never continued playing it because the damage was done and I can't be bothered.
    btg293's avatar
Honestly, you need to go back and play it. I cannot stress enough how much TLC they've given this game.
No it doesn't excuse the state of the launch, but I think they're more than made amends by this point.
    Genuinely a 10/10 experience.

Cool will give this a go, wanted to play it since watching the anime series.

Literally just finished this for the double plat (with the expansion) played it through when it came out, on Ps4, and it was rough as anything, still an alright game but just bogged down by technical stuff, now it's a different game completely, the expansion alone is spectacular at times, and the main game has some real cool moments in it.
  26. tomaszr's avatar
I am not talking about the technical issues when I say this game is ok but it is not great. The writing, although for adults, is childish. Characters pretentious. It's entertaining enough but they really couldn't reach the level of writing GTA games have for example.
  27. TheBusterMan's avatar
In the old days, these were called demos and were always available.
    Mr.Nutts's avatar

    Lovely!
  29. Just.Wondering's avatar
Hmmm, I have completed the original campaign, but sold the disc ages ago.... I wonder if the 5 hours of free playtime, will enable me to play the recently released DLC... (edited)
    Apoc64's avatar
Even if Phantom Liberty was included in the trial (I don't think it is), 5 hours of playtime probably isn't even enough to progress in the game to trigger it starting. And it's certainly not enough to finish it, Phantom Liberty is pretty hefty
