    The reviews mentioning fogging put me off, as where I come from condensation is one of on the joys, so... maybe not worth chancing it. Can't say it's something I've ever experienced with cameras before, that I can remember. Plus a couple of side by side tests against other phones, there were some blown out highlights, though with so much attention on Xiaomi, I'm sure they will tweak things in a firmware update and I'm not averse to shooting manually. Anyway, probably not worth the risk for me, alas, amazing price, though.

    Frustratingly, in one side by side, the reviewer said the full One Plus 12 she preferred is cheaper than the Xiaomi 14 but One Plus 12's UK offers have been poor compared to the US, so I can't imagine it coming anywhere remotely near this price.

    Seems so, it's what put me off initially but in the end I went for it anyway. Not had any fogging issues but I've only had it a couple of days so 🤷‍♂️ reports of similar with the 14 Ultra as well.

    Small display
    No Gorilla Glass on the back
    Won't have a UK charger
    Fogging issues with the camera
    Poor sustained performance/throttling
    And obviously no headphone jack and no microSD.

    But yeah. Bargain innit mate

    True, that! Whenever I look at phones, though, the only thing I tend to be interested in, or at least when establishing a shortlist, is how the cameras do, in terms of how big a discount, and that is a pretty impressive discount. In this case, there's the fogging issue, and blown out highlights (at least compared to the One Plus 12).

    But, yes, those other things, too! Well put, hahaha!

    this is very good phone. really tempted . it looks like fogging issue was only with the devices issued for testers around world before release.

    I don't know about that, I was looking at the reviews on Amazon, one said he was told by Xiaomi that it was a normal occurrence. I don't know, maybe the phone was quite warm when the person took it outside on a cold day but I've not experienced anything like it with my cameras or phone cameras, over the years.

    There's lots of people who have Xiaomi phones, including my family and friends.  They are great phones, usually with top-specs and also commonly more value for money compared to the likes of Samsung or iPhone.

    I've had my 14 for a couple of weeks now. I've taken it indoors & outside (hot & cold) to see if mine get condensation on the lens but so far it's OK. The camera is amazing, so pleased with it.

    That's a great deal right there. Only had mine a couple of days but loving it so far. Upgraded from the Pixel 5, this was as close as anything size wise. Haven't had a problem going from Pixels vanilla Android to HyperOS either. Just hoping the foggy lens issue doesn't raise its head. Heat from me.
