If you are a particularly bad sufferer of hayfever like myself and need the 180mg of fexofenadine (plus other stuff to give me even a fighting chance) you can get usually a couple months of supply (or even 3) via your doctor for a single prescription charge of £9.90.

Speak to your local GP if you have a prepayment certificate already, mine put me on a repeat subscription of 180mg Fexofenadine.

I just bought some for a quid more the other day. Oh, well.

Anyway, this is the only thing that works for my hayfever. Tried everything else, thought I was destined to just suffer with it every year. Now I can cut the grass and not so much as a sniffle.

If I remember correctly Fexofenadine is the one that doesn't make you drowsy - most others have a drowsiness impact, some older antihistamines have been re-packaged as non-prescription sleeping aids in some markets.

Loratadine and certizine are non-drowsy, they can't cross the blood/brain barrier unlike earlier antihistamines.

For me, fexofenadine is amazing for allergic reactions but overkill for hayfever (when you can get a years supply for loratadine for less than a month of fexofenadine).

Or if you were fortunate enough to be born north of the border and stay in gods country then there free. We reluctantly take some of you unfortunate English as our own nowadays but that’s just to keep the political correctness police happy lol

They aren’t free though are they? The NHS is paying for them whilst on its knees.

The ridiculous tax rates in Scotland help though. Thank God I don’t live there anymore. Lovely to visit!

Sadly, Sanofi-Aventis discontinued terfenadine when it was about to become generic; terfenadine is converted to fexofenadine in the body. They made an excuse of drug interactions when trying to make it into a cough/cold medicine such as Sudafed. So, it became a much more expensive, patented (hmmm....) product.

Great one to try if you haven't before. Awesome price vs instore Superdrug/Boots etc. Galpharm also sell generics for about the same price as this deal in store. Both equally as effective in my experience.

Do you have to take these daily to work? as i take Loratadine for hay fever when required and they work to an extent, but on a bad pollen day i topped up with one of these and didn't notice any difference.

I don't think so. Maybe Loratadine works better for you. For me, Loratadine and Cetirizine or whatever it's called do absolutely nothing for me. Maybe different types of pollen we're allergic to or physiological differences, who knows.
