About this deal

I have BT broadband and most of my family are on EE for their mobiles.
(I am the account holder for both of these)

If you text DOUBLE DATA to 150 then you will get double your normal data allowance

If that does not work, try texting it as one word - doubledata

I sent a text message to 150 and 5 minutes later, received a text confirming that my data had been doubled

Ah I was with EE for my mobiles and price matched a £5 PM 40GB Smarty deal and then took out broadband with EE and now I have three phones on EE network, unlimited everything for £5 PM each

Mine is similar. Been with them so long it was one 2 one when I started.

Their fair usage policy 600gb is outdated and not fit for today's usage. They actually had 1tb before we had 4k and games etc and they went lower instead of higher. What a joke. (edited)

Because they knew virtually no one would use 1TB previously. Essentially a free way for them to attract the type of customer who’d pay more yet never use it.

They pop up on SIM only deals with low ish data allowance, suggesting they are a bad deal because you can get double the data for only “£x” more.

I wonder if Plusnet Broadband will go the same way as its Mobile service ( Plusnet Mobile ) and
end up being moved to EE Broadband too ?

For now, no. Plusnet is being kept as their budget no-frills brand for broadband only. They've stripped Plusnet of TV, Landline and mobile services, as well as their business division and white label ISPs (e.g. John Lewis) to help give it it's own place in the family compared to the fully featured EE Consumer brand.

This is still under review for the future though. There's suggestions it could undergo further cuts and cost savings to achieve this, or it could get the axe altogether and shut down, or it could be moved into some kind of essentials brand with EE.

I Believe there will be more talks and a decision at some point next year to decide what Plusnet's long term future looks like (If it even has one)

    Cheers OP!

Good News! You're eligible for our Double Data Boost as a Broadband and Mobile customer. We'll add that now and send you a text when it's done.

“Sorry, you aren't eligible for double data as you already have a data boost add on with this mobile number.”

    You already have it active
    Type allowance to 150

If you have EE full fibre then you should get unlimited data boost, not sure if it is the same with BT.

Only on new plans. Existing customers are apparently on legacy accounts according to them. It’s convenient as they want you to recontract and take the new digital phone lines

If the above doesn’t work (which it didn’t for me), text Double to 1122.

Saw it on the EE app and now it’s worked.

I remember doing this last year and finding out my contract was actually a 1GB tariff with 24GB of loyalty add ons So I only doubled to 2GB. But Twitter support fixed me to a proper 25GB tariff so I had a proper double to 50GB in the end.

Actually at the end of my contract now but not really seeing anything worth moving to unless Voxi do a £12 with Music and Video offer again soon.
