I was looking for a cheap, lightweight and portable laptop under £200 for doing work on the go (word processing and excel), in addition to web browsing and emails.

I was about to pull the trigger on a Lenovo X280, which is a well regarded model for £140 but then I saw this. Pretty much the same chassis but with bigger screen, thinner bezels and it can be used in tablet form. For the additional £60 I felt it was worth it. Like many laptops in this size, the RAM is soldered but at least it has 16gb.

Comes with 12 month guarantee from a respected seller.

Sounds great until you read the condition description.

Ah. "Good" actually means... not that good.

Mind you, these sellers are like a box of chocolates. Sometimes you get much better than expected too, even higher specifications.

Yeah, still in stock and code still works, not sure why or who expired it.

I picked one of these up on eBay too and really like it. It's a shame it doesn't fold over fully as a tablet and there isn't much that can be upgraded on it.

Nice laptop for the price though.

Any good to run Plex media server connected to a Nas for storage? Looking for a reasonable not expensive pc with a reasonable processor for transcoding 4K. NAS processors are diabolical with Intel Celeron at best.

I purchased a Mini Pc on January 26th, and it has been performing flawlessly. It smoothly plays 4K movies without any buffering issues over the past three months. Additionally, I've installed various apps for automating downloads and managing my movie, TV show, and music collections, all of which it handles effortlessly. Here's the link to the NiPoGi Mini PC I bought:

Great seller, have ordered a few from them and they often send better specced laptops than you actually order

The Thinkpad mousepad buttons and trackpoint will stop working after you install the latest Windows update, I've tried downloading the drivers and going into the BIOS but have been unable to fix the issue. It's a regular issue online

Interesting... is this issue specific to the X390 only? And is it with the latest Windows 11 update only? I can't see any discussion online specific to the X390.

Would you wipe out the os these comes with?

I would, but only because I still prefer windows 10.

I had an X390 Yoga as a work PC for a while. However, it only had 8GB RAM which wasn't sufficient for work, so I ended up getting a new Lenovo T14 during lockdown. I kept hold of the X390 and put Ubuntu on it. Ubuntu runs much better than Windows 10 or 11 with 8GB RAM and all the hardware is fully supported - i.e. the touchscreen, fingerprint reader, stylus, touchpad, nipple, etc. all worked straight after a clean install of Ubuntu Desktop.

Also, my X390 has a gloss screen. I find the reflections really annoying and the supplied stylus doesn't feel great on it. I bought a couple of matte screen protectors in September 2020 for £12.71, they work very well, although they seem to have doubled in price now...

Just a heads up about this eBay seller, I ordered a Dell 7390 (Not the same as this deal) and it was in great condition apart from a little bit of dirt and a slight scratch on the outer case but the thing that put me off is that the keyboard was reprinted or just painted?

The caps have an almost brushed feel and all I have is some illumination from underneath the caps instead of through where the letters would be, same with the caps lock etc.

Just something to be aware of unfortunately. (edited)

Received mine yesterday and looks to be in nice condition. Just one problem - makes loud chattering noise when loading just about anything but seems to work. Anyone got any ideas before I return it please?
