How does this stack up against the LG OLEDs that are always posted on here? (the G3/C3/B3?). It seems that people usually recommend those over samsung
    xp3200's avatar
This is better than the C3 but not as good as the G3 another factor is how much you want Dolby vision? (edited)

Actually, if you trade in and use code TV10 it’s even cheaper…

Does anyone know if they enforce the trade in? It’s coming via DPD so I’m thinking not?

Only 1 year warranty from Samsung

I'm actually looking to buy a TV asap. Why is this so much more expensive than for example than something like this? currys.co.uk/pro… 4k
I mostly use it to watch movies and watch football really

Different technologies. That's LED, this is OLED. OLED objectively a better picture in the right conditions. But OLED also much more expensive. If you've got the money then go OLED. If you don't then get a good mid range set from any of the main manufacturers and I'm sure you'll be happy.

The QN85D (also known as the QN88D) is a decent TV. It gets bright and colourful with good contrast but has poor viewing angles and no anti-reflection. It's actually a downgrade from the QN85C model in terms of sound as Samsung downgraded it from 60W last year to 40W this year.

Depending on your lighting environment, I'd actually consider this deal for the S90C OLED. Up until recently, having worked in TV's for many years, the S90C is a better TV in every department (bar one). The S90C has higher colour brightness, wider viewing angles, amazing contrast and same 40W sound. The only area the QN88C beats it is the new AI processor.

Alternatively, if you don't want to spend the extra, I'd look at the QN90C which even though it's a 2023, it's still better in almost every way and the 65" can be had for £999 currently in most places.

Personally I'm waiting for my Q90T from 2020 to die so I can upgrade to a QD-OLED and I'm happy to pay slightly extra for one.

Quietly waiting for comments on this - looking for a decent tv this size and price, just wonder how good it is. (Upgrade from a £400 Bush TV)

    It will be better

With a trade in of a rubbish tv and using the app discount I’ve managed to get it for £1234 direct from Samsung - with a free sound bar

Great price, I'm personally waiting for this to fall a little more though with the new 2024 Samsung and LG TVs hitting markets roundabout now.
    gopolog86's avatar
think it will fall slightly less, maybe £1100 before they disappear for good

Is this good for a ps5 or is the lg tvs better
    Lukesablade's avatar
I'd imagine this will be great with a PS5, I have a S95C and it's incredible, great build to.

144 hz 4k and a much better colour space compared to the (older) LGs
    thumbs up

I got this TV delivered on Wednesday and I love it! Was a bargain for £894 direct from Samsung using a combo of codes.

we have an LG C2 48inch also. The Samsung is much brighter, I had to mess about with it a bit more to get it to look better than the LG (it also had a lip sync issue with our Virgin box) but it really is a decent upgrade in my opinion when configured correctly.

Can’t get over how thin it is for such a large screen! It seems even a little thinner than the C2 which is crazy!
    whyhellothere's avatar
could you tell us what combo of codes you used? that's an amazing price!

How does warranty kick in with things like screen issues (DSE/ScreenBurn/Dead Pixels) etc?
  14. the_mercy_of_percy's avatar
Is the upscaling and lack of Dolby vision on this as bad as some posts on the internet make out?
  15. PedroUNK's avatar
This TV is looking good. How does this compare to the Samsung frame? I’m looking at buying one but trying to work out if the spec on the Samsung frame is good.
  16. L33TL33's avatar
I’ve just been given a 5 year old OLED TV and the middle of the screen has a green/grey circle in the middle. Is this a common issue?
  17. ramtheconqueror's avatar
Wish Sammy supports Dolby Vision. I'm just a movie person, no games.. alas!
    whyhellothere's avatar
yeah DV was why i went with LG C3
