Not the same product it was many years ago.....

Vosene used to contain a coal tar extract which was indeed proven to treat dandruff very effectively, that was what gave it that distinctive smell, these days the main ingredient is actually Aspirin (acetysalicylic Acid) which works but not like the old Vosene........the smell is now added as a fragrance to replicate that old smell. The Coal Tar extract was removed as it was found to be carcinogenic (same applies to Coal Tar Soap which also no longer contains any coal tar) (edited)

It depends on what is causing the itchiness and flaking. Nizoral for example contains ketoconazole which treats fungal yeast infections such as seborrheic dermatitis. The only way to truly tell what type of dermatitis you have is by having a skin biopsy, however it can also be mistaken for other skin conditions such as psoriasis so if in doubt, get it checked out (edited)

It’s only a £1 in Poundland, always in stock.

It's £1.50 in Poundland and homebargains tried to post a screenshot from Poundland but wouldn't let me

Does this work against dandruff? Can someone recommend a good shampoo otherwise? Thanks

Nizoral is good but expensive. Polytar also good (edited)

Since I ended up with Long Covid, my skin has become very flaky everywhere even on my face.

I've tried numerous products including T Gel, Nizoral, Dr Organics, Body Shop Ginger and various other things but nothing seems to work.

Like one of the other posters, it's all in and around my ears, eyebrows, face. Its a bloody nightmare.

I have the same and long COVID but until now never associated it with long COVID. Another thing to thank it for. 😥

I thought I'd try this a month ago before going for Nizoral. Made my dandruff worse.

Nizoral made it worse? Or Vosene?
    Thanks.

Still a lot cheaper than Head and Shoulders though so I'll give it a try.

330ml 2in1 H&S (citrus and normal) are £1.25 in my local Asda at the mo! Been this price for about 6+ weeks now so I keep restocking!

Someone recommended avoiding anything with sodium Laureth sulfate. (SLS) it’s a foaming agent in loads of stuff and apparently it’s really bad for your scalp. I’ve switched and it’s been an incredible difference

What do you use now then?

I think these are £1 in homebargains and I also seen at one beyond.

Appreciate this is on a tangent, but, I'm trying to set-up 5 items for S&S on Amazon but the 15% isn't being applied; three items list as 10%, 2 items list as 5%.... Everything is set for 3 months repeat... Are there different rules / groups for products?

    Ignore - it's the next one that's 15% - durr...

    Thanks (edited)

This is my favourite shampoo. Makes my hair look luxuriant. I even buy extra stock in case they stop making it.
