Check CEX and cash converters too as at least you get a warranty with them.

I recommend any paper white model. I have a gen 2 from 2013 used almost every day and still works great.

Wish Amazon did trade-in. I have a Paperwhite but with the very annoying micro USB connector. Everything else I own has usb c. So often it sits there uncharged.

Last summer, Amazon had an excellent deal where they give deep discount (I think close to 50%) on a new kindle if you traded one in, even if the trade in value was negligible (I had a second gen one with a damaged screen). Might do the same again for Prime day this year?

Can you add your own books in epub format to this?
My last e-reader was a Kobo from 2013 and it was very easy adding epubs to it, a simple case of plugging it in, then dragging an dropping.

You can if you convert the epubs to mobi format. Use Calibre to do this.

The Paperwhite is what finally got me to give up actual books. It's very good. I do miss the smell of books though!😁

Why do people buy these over just using their phone, genuine question (edited)

The screen is an e-ink display

very easy on the eyes and less distractions compared to phone when reading

they are quite compact and very good on travels
