I am looking to get back into fishing, so this is great as my kit disappeared over the years. Apart from the rod/reel combos any other bits worth getting in this sales as I am out of touch with prices? Thank you.

It depends on what type of fishing you are doing. Most people who fish on commercials and local ponds now fish on the pole, rather than rod and reel. The pole on the deal is excellent value and the feeder combo is great too for the price. Most places insist on some form of unhooking mat now so may be worth getting the one for £4.50 I posted in the description. In terms of end tackle, there's nothing great here to be honest. The combo rods and reels by Shakespeare do come with a small tackle box in each with enough hooks, floats etc to get you started.

I didn't include the carp net as it's absolutely huge. I bought a few last week and I can get in them. They look like something you would use for 70lb carp in France haha.

The pole and barbel combo were my favourites. Both are great quality

Crazy how cheap some of these rods and combo sets are. Thinking about getting a couple of the telescopic sea spinning sets for when I go on family trips to the coast. I used to have a Shakespeare rod and reel back in the 90s's and the quality was fine. I am guessing its now probably just the name on generic rods but worth a try at these prices.

The quality on some of these are really good. I wouldn't necessarily put Shakespeare in the ultra budget rods and reels now, that title is now with the likes of Diem and NGT, as well as some of the Matt Hayes branded equipment you would find in Argos etc. The entry level stuff here is still very well made, such as the Challenge XT rod and reel combos. They also seemed to target mid level equipment by attempting to rebrand under SKP. My guess is that this is excess stock which the likes of Sports Direct has bought in bulk and is now trying to offload as fishing isn't as popular as before. I've had lot's of great deals with Studio and pretty much all the Shakespeare stuff I have bought is decent quality for the price. That being said, the smaller telescopic combos are quite generic and not as good as the overall course equipment. The reels were fine but the rods felt a little cheap. They were only like a fiver though so can't complain

Inflated RRP, but can't complain at this price. 3 rods and a bit of tackle for just over £40. Thank you

I ordered a bunch of kit from this deal, and everything came and only 1 rod was damaged (out of 9)!
House of Fraser organised a replacement, but sent me two instead! what a bargain this deal was, most likely the best I've personally experienced on HUKD, thanks OP!

I had a problem with one of the rods too, top eye was bent due to terrible packaging. Looks like they couldn't be bothered and just wrapped everything in one big shrink wrap lol. Can't complain too much as I had some great deals, glad you got some too.

I have ordered two times before on the fishing gear for this price and they all arrive, it takes a day or so to dispatch the items mind

Just to update everyone. Ordered a 10 ft quiver & 10 foot concept. Both arrived today all undamaged from Evri. Superb quality & an unbelievable bargain. I actually ordered through sister site Lovell Sports as delivery was cheaper and had a new customer code. Many thanks OP. One of the very best ever deals personally from Hot deals.

How did they send yours as mine were wrapped in a bit of shrink wrap & some of the ceramic has smashed in the eyes?

Thanks so much op. Been looking at getting back into sea fishing for a number of years. Children have asked but didn’t want to be spending out the money for 1-2 days activity.

Just bought 3 sea rods that comes with reels and spool for £28 delivered so they can have their own rods.

Superb price. It is a shame it doesn’t stipulate what strength line it is. Many thanks.

Edit, just found the rod reel and line combo on another site for same price, but p&p is £5 and not £10:

Good find on that site, I would have ordered from there had I known. The £9.99 delivery cost is a little high on Studio.

I think the barrier to entry for fishing has become a little high with the prices recently. It's probably a reason why so many kids don't want to go anymore. Glad you got some affordable stuff

Good price but the link no longer works!

Think it is sold out now (11ft rod) as well as some of the others. Any broken link on Studio generally means the item has now gone out of stock unfortunately

Any other sites that you know that has a similar deal?? None of the above sites deliver to Ireland. Lovellsports did accept my order but cancelled it at fulfilment stage. It's a really good deal but can't get my hand on it.
