I know many will have different opinions of these halogen fryers. I purchased my first from FarmFoods on their £20 deal. Since then I have never used my gas oven again for any cooking.

This will fit a normal sized chicken.

It has a handy defrost mode that I use prior to cooking.

I like the big glass bowl as I can put it in my sink and wash it out with hot water. The glass is like PYREX.

Many will have different opinions, this one is not as aesthetically pleasing on the eye as others due to its shape & design but it is very cheap, very reliable and very easy to use and clean.

I was looking for a second one to take on holiday as such things are never supplied and waited until this offer price came around.

This particular model seems to be sold under many different brand names but they are all identical, from DAEWOO to TOWER. This one is branded LEWIS'S established 1856. That branding means nothing and I do wish in this day and age manufacturers would give up with this trying to convince the buyer our brand is better, this is not the 1980s when BOSCH was a BOSCH and Made In West Germany.

    Great deal and price!

Just bear in mind Halogen bulbs on average have a lifespan of around 2000 hours. You can calculate you break even point between this or some other air fryers depending on how often you plan to use it.

You can get the bulbs for about £8, and are about as easy to fit as wiring a 3 pin plug.

Ordered one on day deal posted, it arrived the next day. I can confirm it has the lower trivet thing and also a taller, extender

What other unmentioned accessories does it come with?

There was a time when I would have been all over a bargain like this. Unfortunately I have 3 spares, plus one from a friend who switched to an air fryer

I really hate that stupid buzzword name "air fryer" they are literally just mini convection ovens, the exact same tech in the electric oven in most peoples kitchen.

My very first air fryer was like this and lasted years. Ended up giving it away because it wouldn't die and I wanted a new one.

I'm still using my Andrew James halogen oven and it must be at least 10 years old (& I'm still on the original bulb). I 'would' upgrade but the last time I tried I had a bad experience with a Phillips Air Fryer (smoked the house out)

    Heat!

Same here! The Philips one is really hard to clean!

I would rather pay the £19.99 and get the 17L version from Farm Foods with a 3 year warranty. We got one from Aldi over 4 years ago and its still going strong, with the original element, and it's frequently used. We brought one from Farm Foods just in case ours stops working. (edited)

Isn't 17l basically the same thing except it has an extender ring?

Love my halogen oven (one with an attached lid) - simple, efficient, versatile (can cook multiple layers), can see how food is cooking, and dishwashable (apart from the lid). The halogen technology is sadly missing from most if not all of the trendy air-fryers that have led people like sheep on a fad chase

I love mine too but to be brutally honest, the halogen tech is essentially just a bulb that gets hot.

Thanks, been using my Daewoo for many years. Fits a pizza in fantastically, unlike my air fryer. Never found one in farm foods as need another for a relative, so will go for this. Thanks

Perhaps it's not the bargain I thought it was. It looks like these just come with the tongs. It doesn't even mention low rack in the picture. So no extender ring, and no high, or low, racks. Ok if you already have them but I tend to find that the stainless steel high rack, the one I use most often, gets covered in rust long before the cooker lid fails.
