    Last week in costco it was for £2.39 (only useful if one has membership + local) otherwise this seems a good price.

    They say 'free to graze' but they don't say slaughtered when worn out less than one quarter through their natural lifespan. But, if they're male they're lucky to make 30 days in the dark for veal after being transported to Europe.

    Not true!

    From December 2023, The Animal Welfare (Livestock Exports) Bill banned the export of live animals for slaughter and fattening from Great Britain.

    Anyway, Arla farmers, whose cows milk makes Cravendale have the policy that no healthy calf (male or female) will be slaughtered or euthanised within 8 weeks of life, allowing all calves not entering the dairy chain to be reared as beef cattle.

    There are absolutely no reason for any farmer to not to have the best possible animal welfare.
    Why would you spend time & money, bringing up a heifer calf, getting her in-calf, bringing her in to milk ... & then treating them badly? The only productive & profitable animal is one that is happy & healthy.

    Wasn't that the 2 litre size?
    Last time I got this on offer it was £2.50 at the beginning of April.
