Is a LG G3 65" £1549 a good deal? Only seen then around 2k+ from Rs + 5 yr warranty
    Crossbow's avatar
Debatable for the £500 price difference, full comparison rtings.com/tv/…849
    Summary
"The LG G3 OLED is better than the LG C3 OLED.
They're both nearly identical, except that the G3 doesn't come with a stand, instead having a slim wall mount included in the box and a fully flat profile that allows the TV to be completely flat on the wall when wall mounted. [If preferred, a suitable stand can be had from £20 here hotukdeals.com/com…345]
In theory, the G3 can also get much brighter than the C3; however, in practice, you won't see much difference except in certain contexts, such as when bright white clouds are displayed.
They both offer DTS audio support this year, a clear improvement over both preceding models [i.e. G1 & G2]."

If you go for a C3, the 6LC is the better model of the two with a swivel stand & WiSA speaker support hotukdeals.com/com…419 (edited)

in the right lighting conditions, OLED is so far ahead that it is unfair
the way contrast allows colours to pop is immense

    downsides (gaming)
30 and 60 FPS motion is perceptibly worse. I expected 30 FPS to move bad, i was still shocked. it looks like stop motion- you can tell instantly
since i have a high end QLED as a point of direct comparison i can confidently say that is much smoother

this set is 120 hz, and any content at 120 hz is better than any 120 hz LCD- not as much as i would like to see..... I've read reviewers claim that 120 hz OLED is the equivalent of 180 HZ LCD- nope, not even close. I also have a 165 hz IPS gaming monitor and the motion on that is visibly superior compared to 120 hz

I might even go as far as saying a good TN gaming monitor at 144 hz handles motion better than OLED

Sony X95L LCD can trade with OLEDs and overall people say they preferred the Sony over something like an LG C-series.

The new Sony Bravia 9 will close the gap even further.

I wouldn’t completely disregard LCDs, specifically Sony Mini-LEDs!

Have a Samsung 40" that I've had for years... time for a bigger TV... Which? Recommends this as the best TV... should I get this now or continue with my small TV until Black Friday in November?
    dealhunter6k's avatar
Price wise I'd buy now but if you watch a lot of FHD, go for 55" as the PPI difference will leave you dissatisfied.
  5. DonDaggen's avatar
This or the G2 very similar prices.
    Crossbow's avatar
Side by side differences rtings.com/tv/…848, so your main uses may come into play. Apart from the info below, the G2 is more gaming-centric as well.
    Summary from the review...
    - The LG G2 OLED and LG C3 OLED are comparable TVs, each with their particularities
    - The G2 doesn't come with a stand [a suitable thirdparty one can be bought relatively cheaply, some examples here], but a slim wall mount is included in the box. It also has a fully flat profile that lets the TV completely flush with the wall when wall-mounted
    - The G2 can also get a bit brighter than the C3; however, you won't see much difference in actual usage
    - The C3 supports DTS audio formats while the G2 doesn't, so the newer model is a better fit for a home entertainment setup.

By Gum, its getting close to my £1K target, thank you for the excitement.

I notice you and I often comment this, well after the 1% cashback on my card it's £1017 so I've gone and done it. I love how they set it up in your house too and take the box away for free.

    Where from pls, Richer Sounds?
  12. dealhunter6k's avatar
The sound was MUCH better on my 55C7. It was a little brighter, too.

Say Q FHD looks terrible on this TV. Sky UHD looks great.

    PS5 is tremendous. (edited)

From what I can see, their 5 year warranty does not cover the C range. G & 8k range only

  16. samuelcresswell's avatar

    dealhunter6k's avatar

  19. DemonSurfer's avatar

last question whats the difference between LG OLED65C34LA & OLED65C36LC is it just the stand?
    Crossbow's avatar
The 6LC is also WiSA-ready up to 2.1 channels 𝘃𝘀 no WiSA support with the 4LA.
"Plus, with WiSA2 compatibility, your LG OLED TV is designed to work seamlessly with WiSA-enabled speakers to deliver high-fidelity sound wirelessly to wherever your WiSA-enabled speakers are—which can dramatically elevate the cinematic sound of everything you watch."

    - WiSA: everything you need to know about the wireless audio standard (2019 article)
    whathifi.com/adv…ard
    - Multiple LG OLED TVs...earn WiSA SoundSend Certification wisatechnologies.com/new…tvs
  29. DonDaggen's avatar
so LC is better? Ive ordered the 4LA as its the cheaper one ATM
    Crossbow's avatar
6LC bettter with the swivel stand & WiSA support, but no other differences. So, if neither really affects you much the 4LA will be fine.

    What does “then secret” mean?

I was planning on buying a new TV in a few months when doing up the living room. What the chances of another or better deal like this popping up again do you think? Thanks.
    WAE786's avatar
Prime day in July, other retailers might lower prices to match amazon
  32. Rezler's avatar
"Delivery limited to UK mainland only on orders placed via the LG online store"
  33. DonDaggen's avatar
so AMEX has an offer ATM £75 cashback for purchase from RS over £1000 so potentially its worth £95 for those who have AMEX, but I couldn't get them to price match.
