Hi - could someone please explain how to use this as part of a temporary internet solution for home devices?

If your smartphone has tethering capabilities, you can create a WiFi network for your others devices using your Sim's data.

Just click onto your network and internet settings and there should be a "hotspot" or "tethering" option there which you need to toggle on. It'll then give you the WiFi name and password which you can use to connect to from your other devices

Does anyone know of a way to swap to this plan as an existing customer? I’m on a £8 a month plan now but the only option I see for this costs £20 per month.

Ask customer service. Tell them what you’ve found and ask them to price match it. They don’t do it for everyone but id say the majority of those who ask get it.

Got this on quidco the other day. Cashback was and is £18.75.

Damnit, just paid £18 for this. I’ll contact customer services to see if that can get changed.

They let me change it to a lower price no questions asked three times now. Ask them in the chat via the app.

Good deal if you can actually get a signal on the woeful three network good luck!

Has outages every other month too, usually for days. 1p mobile is solid.

I’m currently on Three. I’m tempted to swap to smarty. I get great signal and download speeds on Three. But reading reviews on here and Reddit. I see mixed reviews.

Smarty is owned by Three and uses the exact same signal. If you’re happy with one you’ll be fine with the other.

The speed of their network is awesome. I’ve moved from EE to Smarty and I’m getting crazy good speeds. Admittedly in my home I had around 250 Mbps with EE and around 50Mbps on Smarty but everywhere else I’ve tested it, it wins. I’ve averaged around 500Mbps whenever I’ve tested it, and have had speeds of 960 Mbps which is crazy. Ping seems to be better than EE too.

I have it in a 3 network pro 2 router amazing. Totally agree with you

Actually have Three on 5G where I live but currently on Lebara which is 4G but only a tenner a month, pretty good for streaming with Firestick in the TV but sometimes struggles when I am on the internet at the same time. Might give it a try.

Switched away from smarty, couldn't get a signal anywhere

At work I do get 800+ Mbps speed on 3 network but at home 4+ Mbps - sucks

Had 5 contracts. Slowly moving away from them. Seems where I live the 3 mast was on a private property, the new owners of the house refused to extend the lease or something so was taken down.

The idiots have not replaced it, they say no idea when they will replace. So have zero reception many times locally. So having to migrate to Lebara.

Check with a test/cheap Lebara sim 1st before porting over....

I've found Lebara very patchy: lots of dropped calls, lack of signal to receive/make calls, texts delayed etc.

I pay £16 a month have not had any problems using it in a 5g router pro 2 getting great service.

Great Deal, I currently use this SIM and Deal in my old Three 5g Router, much cheaper than broadband and great speeds as I live in a 5g area.

Great if you can get a signal. It's dire in the westcountry

Nice for router if 5G mast next to house… will never use for main phone because of call quality and coverage… (edited)

Give it a test every so often ( as I do with all providers ). 3 is always useless in the Highlands.
Peak speed is well and good, useless if you can't hold a phone call whilst travelling.....
    Will try again next year.

It's been great many years but I noticed few singal issues this month

I’m on ID mobile. Which uses the Three network. I was paying £15 with them for 2 years but my contract came to an end. I messaged them say I wanted to stop and if they could do me an offer I’ll stop. So they have me £10 per month with 100gb and an add on for unlimited data. 2year pan. Plus I can use it EU.
