As its name suggests, Jaz Sharks Bay Hotel has a plot in one of Sharm El Sheikh's top areas. It's a ten-minute drive to the nearest beach, which is one of Egypt's trademark sandy numbers. The scenic stretch is backed by loads of hotels, so you'll find plenty going on, from watersports centres to restaurants and bars. Back at base, the hotel fans out around a roomy swimming pool and large sun terraces. Little ones get a kids' pool to splash about in, as well. You can tuck into big buffet-style meals at the restaurant, and sip cold drinks in either of the two bars.

I went to Egypt recently. It’s safer than London.

"Sharks bay" so swimming in the sea is off the menu unless you want to be on the menu.

So long as your hotel has a decent toilet its all you need in Egypt , where your be spending most of your time anyway. Apart from the sneaky pool squirters, you know who you are.

Drive to the beach? Why when so many hotels are already on the beach?

Maybe the ones on the beach are more expensive. That's a good enough reason for some. Many are just fine with the pools. Some are afraid of sharks, so again, they may want the pool only.

the main reason for upset guts is the different water and minerals within, do the obvious things like avoid food washed in tap water salads etc and stick to bottled water and avoid ice, usually if you get the squids it clears up and you are ok thereafter......also a lot of gut rot is caused by too much SUN , skin burn and mild heat stroke

of course if you go to cheaper places you are more likely to get a lesser concentration on health standards , just like any hotel/resort anywhere in the world.

if you go to Egypt go to a true 5* hotel and you will likely be fine if you follow basic protocols

All the people I know were diagnosed here as still unwell with faeces related bacteria. The heat and water will cause a few but most hotels wash salads in bottled water now. Its what the
Reps tell you, the minerals upset you. That's a lie to stop them being liable. The pathology doesn't lie. The accidents in the pool cause a lot of bacterial transmission too.

Not for this price, also 4* in Egyptian standard is like 1-2 stars in Europe…
