Rodos Star in Afandou, Rhodes, Greek Islands
Hotel Rated 4.5 on Trpadviso
r

Afandou’s bars and tavernas are only a short stroll away from the Rodos Star.
The Rodos Star has a hillside setting with views across the Mediterranean. Afandou’s centre is a 5-minute downhill walk away, and you can reach the pebbly beach in 25 minutes. Historical Rhodes Town is a 25-minute drive away. The hotel’s well-kept gardens surround a good-sized swimming pool and a paddling pool. Inside, there’s a restaurant and a cocktail bar, where entertainment takes place.

Pools

Two swimming pools are set in a lawned sunbathing area. The main one is a big rectangular number, while the second is a shallow pool for little ones to splash about in.

Food & Drink

Nectar Restaurant goes down the buffet route. Breakfast spreads include eggs, bacon, and pancakes, while dinners feature a mix of Greek favourites and international dishes.
The restaurant is open for three meals a day. There’s a poolside snack bar, too.

Entertainment
Live music and Greek dancing take place in Orfeas Bar.

Facility Summary
The pool area steals the spotlight here. The pool itself is anchored into a grassy sunbathing area, and is paired with a snack bar and a kids’ paddling pool. International and Greek dishes are served at the restaurant, which has indoor and al fresco seating areas. There’s also an outdoor terrace at the bar, where evening entertainment is hosted.

Rooms
All rooms come with a balcony that offers views of the mountainside. And air-conditioning is provided during July and August. Family rooms are also available. You can pay to use the air-con at other times of the year.

Went there last year. The main drawback was the hill climb on the way back to the hotel, otherwise it was fine.

You will need to pay extra for WiFi and air conditioning.

Just back from Rhodes. Afandou was one of the places the coach picked up from on interminable transfer back to airport.

The place all looked pretty desolate, but if you just want a pool and sunshine, this would tick the box.

Dont go if you are allergic to screaming babies. As this is the time of the year when all the new parents go on holiday and the plane is absolute bedlam...! (edited)

Went there a few years back and it was a struggle to get slightly drunk as all of the drinks are massively watered down and there was a massive queue at the only bar served by miserable barmen.
Food ok but all the decent stuff disappeared within minutes and never refilled ! Giros were very good at lunchtime though.
Family ran hotel but in the middle of nowhere with a randown town tacked on .
For the price it's not bad but I personally wouldn't go back. Oh and pretty limited nighttime entertainment
