I just got these from Asda on a deal, £12 for 3 and they're brilliant.

If you google this product the cheapest one would come up at around £18 but HUKD wouldn’t let me put that as a deal since the seller is not recognised by them even though it’s a bid retailer
    user072022's avatar
its because HUKD does not get paid referral commision through that retailer

I haven't changed ours for about 6 months. Water tastes fine. Nicer from the tap though.

You are getting bursts of the dirt that has built up on the filter and then breaks off into your water, so yep tap water would be cleaner than water from an over used filter.

Both deals are posted by the same person. What puzzles me is that, in buying now, Amazon is hotter than the other deal (Tesco). Strange site

I think about a £ cheaper if you’ve got a Costco membership. Not amazing , but it’s always that price so you don’t need to wait for an Amazon/argos /ebay deal

If I only new they existed before! Well, at least now I know Thanks a lot @shmitty!

    Any deal for the jug?

Is it better to use one of these or boil water and let it cool, which is the healthier option and why?
    Flopert's avatar
To get rid of chlorine boiling works great, to rid of say lead which is very common in the UK then boiling makes it worse

A few years ago there were Maxtra compatible filters that fitted in the Maxtra jug. Amazon had its own brand that I used for a couple of years at a decent saving.

Then we replaced the jug, to find that Maxtra had put a 'keyed' fitting into the valve that prevents generic products working.

Did pick up Maxtra branded filter cartridges to solve this. However, I'm wondering if generic ones for Maxtra Pro will ever appear.

The other thing about this supposed 'wellness' product is the impossibility or recycling the cartridges. Waitrose professes to, but I've yet to see a branch that actually does.
