Cold.. can get them free from GP

Most GPs won’t prescribe them, because the prescribing rules generally proscribe it. And in any event there’s a prescription charge for those not exempted or holding a prepayment certificate.

Ideal if you have the Family coming over this Bank Holiday Weekend.

Good price, if I recall I think Poundland might be 10p-20p more?

3 packets for £1.00 in Poundland, 200mg Ibuprofen is on the same deal.

No they come in a box of 16. You have to buy 16

On our first date my wife wanted to know my back story.

Told her it’s mostly ibuprofen and visits to the chiropractor

Why can’t you get painkillers in the jungle? Because Parrots ate em all (Paracetamol)😝

Free from pharmacies across Scotland on pharmacy first

Less chance of needing them though due to the higher price of alcohol there

    Not in one go.

This is a good deal because I have found real difficulty in finding paracetamol to buy. However there's always plenty of packets of significantly more expensive "super" cold remedies which similarly contain paracetamol but you're paying extra for bit of lemony flavouring and perhaps a bit of caffeine.

So generic paracetamol at a cheap price is great.

Difficultly really...any supermarket around me always has plenty for 30-60p for unbranded

    Cheaper in Home Bargains, IIRC.

    What's your go-to for a headache?
    This or Ibuprofen?

Always paracetamol first-line for any pain. The ibuprofen class of drug can be bad for your kidneys and heart long-term although can sometimes be more effective with MSK pain.

If paracetamol works, use it. If it doesn't, try with ibuprofen (unless ibuprofen is specifically not recommended for you e.g. CKD, CVS disease, >65yrs, asthma/COPD). A short course generally won't cause any harm.

And in response to below comments buy over the counter and not through your GP unless you need a big pack for regular use. Saves everyone a lot of money and time in this underfunded and tired NHS.
