For online trade-in, a promotion form for further information will be provided through a confirmation email. This form must be completed for promotional payment to be made. Initial trade-in value will vary dependent on device. Offer available when you trade-in online and in store and continues until 03/06/24. Additional discounted values only apply when you trade-in any eligible working handset and purchase a new Google Pixel 8a. Trade-in value and additional discounted value discounted off the upfront cost of your phone, or via BACS transfer if online or if the trade-in plus enhanced value is higher than the cost of the device. Offer not available in conjunction with any other offer. If the device is bent, broken into pieces or any of the internal parts are showing, it is classed as 'Beyond Economic Repair' or BER. A device that is BER has ZERO value and cannot be traded in. Subject to availability.

  • The Pixel Camera takes amazing photos and videos, every time. With Google AI, you can create perfect group shots and fix blurry images.
  • Did someone blink or look away? Pixel's Best Take combines similar photos into one fantastic picture where everyone looks their best.
  • Audio Magic Eraser uses Google AI to reduce disruptive noises like cars and wind and highlight the sounds that you want.
  • Photo Unblur in Google Photos can improve your blurry pictures – new or old. With just a few taps, remove blur and visual noise.
  • The Pixel Camera includes Super Res Zoom, so you can get up close without an extra telephoto lens.
  • Pixel can wait on hold for you and display the menu options – just tap the department you want.
  • Call Screen can now detect and filter out even more spam calls. For other calls, it can tell you who's calling and why before you pick up.
  • With improved clear calling, Pixel reduces background noise and enhances voices. So you can hear callers even when they're in a noisy place.
  • Circle to search anything directly from the app that you're in. Just draw a circle around an image, text or video, and Google AI finds it fast.
  • Pixel is built with safety features to help in an emergency. It can quickly call emergency services and share your accurate location.

Am I the only one who is not bothered by the bezels? Having had a myriad of phones with different bezel sizes, and currently on the 6a, I don't see the bezels as an issue.
    chamelion's avatar
not bothered either. In fact find it comical when those with tiny bezel phones try using them on the tube and keep hitting stuff unintended with their palms when just holding the phone.

Some phones are on this list but not on the list when ordering. Can one do the trade in after ordering the phone?

What's the general consensus on the Pixel 7 Pro?

    Bought outright

Overpriced on release. Doesn’t get all the features because not in USA. Big, cumbersome. Very ordinary battery life. Broken on release with the fingerprint scanner issues. Couple years of updates have made it a palatable option but for the poor modem in it tensor which impacts calls, messages and speed. That’s the kicker for me. Phone ain’t so smart if it can’t get signal or gets slow speeds.

Heat added as lower than the RRP and that's before it has even come out and this provides minutes and data. However I do think the 8a is overpriced given the price of the pixel 8 which is better in every way and now can be had for cheaper when deals come. Given what Google has done I can see how it may kill the a series going forward. People used to buy the a series for the smaller form factor recognising there are compromises to be had, camera and build to get to that size along with lower price. However this is now slightly heavier than the 8 and has worser cameras at a higher price. I would expect this to drop quite steadily in price over the coming months

Could someone check if my maths are correct here???

(14.99*24) + 74 - (40+150) for Pixel 6a trade in - (7*24) for what I would have paid on my current £7 a month SIM only plan for 25 GB a month for the next 2 years -

    A total of £75.76 over 2 years???!!

It seems a no brainer and yes I am aware it's not taking into account annual price increase in April 2025.

It seems almost too good to be true, and I haven't even factored in topcashback yet.
    HopScotch's avatar
    That's what I was thinking.

Once current £10 contract is factored in this is ridiculously cheap for a new phone
  10. absolutebeginner's avatar
Can I trade in after ordering? Thanks.
    chamelion's avatar
Yep that's how it works You mail your trade-in within 30 days if i'm not mistaken.
  11. tranceazure's avatar
Works out quite cheap if you usually pay about a tenner a month on a sim anyhow and change to this sim I pay a tenner for my lebara sim,so an extra tenner a month for the phone, went for the 18.99 deal with no upfront cost, plus 20 cash back hopefully works out about 460 over 24 month, minus 240 I’d pay anyhow with lebara sim package,so 220 for phone, even the pixel 7a costs 230 through deals on here.
  12. Fuaad_Hersi's avatar
that £15 will become £25 by the end of your contract heck even half way through the contract. My old contract was £30 and now im close to £40 with 6 months left. You're better off buying it and getting a sim only deal.
    laurypop's avatar
Assuming you'd pay £12pm for just the sim on similar allowance, that leaves circa £6.7pm payment towards the phone. Which is £160 over two years. If you can get £150 trade in bonus, you effectively getting a free phone and paying for sim only
  13. Skinflapp's avatar
You might as well just buy the Pixel 8.
Price of.the 8a is too similar for a dumbed down version of the 8.
  14. BrianButterfield's avatar

I don't think most standard users would notice the difference between this and a 7a which goes dirt cheap on a certain auction site, brand new, quite often .....
    realdeals's avatar
The camera bar is looking very tired now and those bezels.
  16. realdeals's avatar
Blimey! We have a price knockdown + extra PX before the phone's even launched, the depreciation on this and the other 8 series models is going to be epic if they haven't turned the SOC down.

    Heat added 🔥 (edited)

So more expensive than this deal and without 2 years of 100GB data and unlimited calls/texts?
  22. realdeals's avatar
MKB seems not too excited by the 8a.

Also Googles bloat has expanded and they have now copied Samsung by adding a second assistant but they dont have a dedicated button.

I think this model will have a lot of people buying the non-a version, if they can find it for around £550, that is unless Google have tweaked the cameras on the a version. The 7a was a surprise, to me, bettering (in my opinion) the side-by-side camera quality's output compared to the much more expensive 7 Pro and the 7. Sounds as though the cameras on this one aren't an upgrade, though, so I imagine people will look for a good deal on the 8.

Since the link to the trade in doesn’t show mobiles.co.uk as a participating seller - how is the £150 trade in bonus going to work? Don’t really want to buy the phone then find out I can’t actually trade in once it’s too late

My son would love this but Apple let you have Apple pay at 13, Google pay is 16. He ain't waiting 3 more years for contactless so he'll struggle on with his XS.

    Cool story bro

Why not just build off an old phone to keep the price low? They should've used the Pixel 6's screen instead of these big bezels. Something tells me it would've cost around the same, if not, cheaper due to its age.
  32. Franchesca.Sdoyle's avatar
I want this, but I'm already with ID and cannot be bothered to port my number out. I wish they gave good upgrade offers
  33. bozy09's avatar
Got a pixel 8 pro used for 400 in January. The performance sucks. It really really really sucks. The only good thing about the phone is the software support and the cameras. Battery life is rubbish, performance is slow, network reception sucks, Bluetooth issues where it struggles to connect with certain devices like my car which is a problem no other phone has.

Only single SIM card so holiday abroad I needed to take out my UK SIM.

    Great pictures though

I bought a magic 6 pro last week so I'll be getting rid of the pixel. Good riddance.

Seriously I've had proper cheap Xiaomi and Pocophones before and they were so much better to use day to day. The pictures sucked on those but the overall experience was better.

sounds like an issue with your phone, not with the entire lineup.

They've removed the option to buy the 256GB, even when I managed to get the black 256GB selected it wouldn't allow me to pre-order, it just gave a 404 error?
  39. boostii's avatar
I didn't think they would do an 8a because the full on P8 doesn't feel much more than a 6a or 7a as it's quite small. (edited)

What do you guys think, I have the pixel 6, they are offering £269 trade in. Should I take it?
    Deal_searcher's avatar
I'm pretty happy with my pixel 6. At £269 trade in it still makes the phone £230. Whilst compelling I would personally wait for a later model as it is not that much of an upgrade or wait for the pixel 8 pro to drop in price
