GET AN EXTRA £150 ON TOP OF YOUR TRADE-IN VALUE WHEN YOU TRADE-IN ANY WORKING HANDSET.
For online trade-in, a promotion form for further information will be provided through a confirmation email. This form must be completed for promotional payment to be made. Initial trade-in value will vary dependent on device. Offer available when you trade-in online and in store and continues until 03/06/24. Additional discounted values only apply when you trade-in any eligible working handset and purchase a new Google Pixel 8a. Trade-in value and additional discounted value discounted off the upfront cost of your phone, or via BACS transfer if online or if the trade-in plus enhanced value is higher than the cost of the device. Offer not available in conjunction with any other offer. If the device is bent, broken into pieces or any of the internal parts are showing, it is classed as 'Beyond Economic Repair' or BER. A device that is BER has ZERO value and cannot be traded in. Subject to availability.

    OK, this one got me.

    Bought.

    £50 tcb + £68 for my old pixel 6 + £150 bonus =£268 cash.

Just works out so cheap all in - around £8/month for £100gb + ear buds worth £100 (can sell at cex for about £30) and a phone with 7 years updates.

Just pulled the trigger on this!

Does anyone know when I should expect the email to claim the 150 cashback?
    bryanhaines399's avatar
I received an order confirmation and trade in confirmation email. In the latter of the two scroll down to "What's next" and click on "HERE" and it will open a form that you need to fill in.

Slightly off topic but does anyone know if you need an active Google One subscription to use the AI features?

Gemini Pro, which is included in a Google One 2TB tier (£20/month) is not connected to having a Pixel. Anything advertised as part of the phone blurb is included without a subscription. Having said that, I still don't have Gemini nano on my regular Pixel 8

I've become confused by the two statements (as seen below) on the website regarding the trade-in offer. The first mentions 'any eligible working handset,' while the second mentions 'ANY working handset.' So, does the trade-in device need to be on their eligible list and have a value of more than zero, or can it be completely any device?

    A. Additional discounted values only apply when you trade-in any eligible working handset and purchase a new Google Pixel 8a.

    B. GET AN EXTRA £150 ON TOP OF YOUR TRADE-IN VALUE WHEN YOU TRADE-IN ANY WORKING HANDSET.

The phone has to have a value, even £1. A zero value phone will not qualify for the extra £150

Can someone please explain the process for the trade in offer? I'm quite confused by their wording.

Am I meant to order the phone and then wait to receive a separate trade in form via email?

Or am I meant to use the trade in service at the same time as purchasing the phon e? (i.e. both phones in the checkout basket)
    tuckeral's avatar
Unless you add a trade in during basket/checkout I don't think they'll know to send you trade-in docs, so yes I'm guessing you have to add the trade-in on the basket page (option appears at the top of the basket page).

What's a good phone to buy just to trade in for the 150? Like cheapest working one they offer
    MrBestDeal's avatar
    Have you figured out?

Providing you can afford it I’m finding buying the phone outright (with a decent trade in) cheaper than any of the contracts then just get a sim only deal to complement it!
    Argex's avatar
Can you please link phone+ SIM only that is cheaper than this contract?

Pixel buds included but an extra £50 up front. Still a good deal 🏼

Only offered me 123 pound for Pixel 7a?
    cp1's avatar
With 150 on top of that so not bad.

Also TCB now £50 for Pixel 8a at Carphone Warehouse (edited)
  11. tearex's avatar
Any idea how long this tcb deal will last?
  12. Shaftydude's avatar
    They only do 128gb?
  13. stevepb_uk's avatar
Dammit. Was going to order this but done a quick screen burn test and there is a small bit at the bottom of the screen. Brilliant deal though. Does anyone know if you go into Currys will they test the phone there and then just to see if I can wing it. :-)

£150 Trade in is for ANY working handset, so as long as its working, it should be good.
I think people have gone to store and purchased previous similar sort of deal.
  14. Soylent_Pete's avatar
Considering the phone is launching sim-free for ~£500, without the earbuds, you can't say this doesn't stack up as a good deal. Especially if you can work out a trade-in.

Anyone any idea why Xiaomi/redmi aren't even listed as trade in options when they even sell them?

There seems to be a £79 upfront deal that saves you £30 if you don't want the Free Ear Buds.
Am I right in thinking the £150 extra trade in applies to that also?
  19. mattchester's avatar
I ordered this yesterday, but the link they sent to claim the additional £150 trade in value doesn’t list this promotion

    Anyone else tried?
    bryanhaines399's avatar
Yeah same experience. Someone suggested waiting to fill it in just before sending off my trade in phone.

In the past I got messed about and had a phone sent back and I sent it again and that promotion had ended by then, so I selected the option that it wasn't listed and emailed them about it to make sure it was for the appropriate promotion. I'll do the same if it's still not showing.

I've got an old phone that's classified as recycleable only, you reckon I'll still get the £150
    tuckeral's avatar
I personally wouldn't risk it. The terms for the extra £150 require "sell"[ing your device] and that's a different option on the trade-in page to "recycle".
  21. runnybabbit's avatar
They give my Moto G5 from 2017 no value (while Google store estimates £41+promo value), but will accept £3 for my Galaxy S2 from 2011? And of course that's the only phone I have that doesn't work any more. Also not even an option to select any Xiaomi phones. A shame, I would have gone for this.
  22. redduck's avatar
The upfront cost has now increased to £129 if you want the pixel buds A and £99 without. An increase of £20 from yesterday's price.
