Rab is one of the few brands that usually fit me well - long torso, arms and broad shoulders.

The Xenon 2.0 is the complete opposite to Rab's usual cut/fit. It's very boxy and weirdly tight across the shoulders, causing the sleeves and back to ride up. Sizing up helped a little, but you end up swimming in the already generous cut.

    Great price though!

I was literally going to type the same thing, mine was back in the bag within 30 secs, horrible cut.

Is this their version of the Montane Prism?

Yes, I think that that is a fair summary. Having worn them both, I much prefer the fit of the Prism but I am a bit of a Montane fan boy.

I bought one of these, they're shockingly thin and not very warm at all.

I agree that it doesn't provide much insulation in it's own right. I think that they designed it more as a windproof outer layer assuming that you were wearing something warm underneath.

I guess something has to give if you want it to packable.

Have you read the specification? If so, can you find a non-Rab jacket with the same insulation and outer with DWR at a better price. If so, please share the deal. (edited)

Is this a winter only jacket. Or can it be used daily throughout the year. I already own jackets that only see daylight for maybe 2 months a year.

Got one of these a bit back, it’s great as a light windproof jacket and surprisingly warm (as it’s really thin)

    This isnt waterproof is it?
    sashforth's avatar
No, it is more about keeping the wind off (edited)
