I’m buying this for my 12 year old to use for school work, would anyone recommend buying the Microsoft office software that’s on offer too with it
    Namrofni10's avatar
The Microsoft 365 is a yearly subscription service not a one off fee. So look into the renewal cost to see if you're happy paying it.

Back in stock. Ordered one at 6am for my son. Then decided too much of a deal and decided to upgrade my own ageing laptop and they'd sold out at 10am. Kept refreshing and back in stock now. I'd imagine it will keep doing this with low stock levels. Serious bargain thanks OP and Merry Christmas all. (edited)

I so want to buy this laptop, but my son is autistic and will only have a black laptop. So I have to keep searching!

Thanks OP. Just ordered as it came back in stock.

I have ordered it for click and collect considering the problems with post these days. But now thinking, I should have got it delivered. I have a couple of questions if someone can guide me please.

Is click and collect covered in distant selling regulations ?
Is delivery better than click and collect for that purpose if I needed to return the item ?
    jumbosausage's avatar
Click and collect is covered, as a contract is formed by your payment in advance.

Would love to hear anyone's opinion who has one....much rather pay £299 than 7-800 for something I don't need ?? don't do gaming or video editing but stream films a lot and tend to have a lot of tabs open.tia
    amour3k's avatar
I'm not sure whether your above, is a comment?, a question?, a statement?, or what?

However, I'll answer based on what I believe you're trying ask ...

Yes, this laptop would be perfect for streaming the world of video's upon. :-D

    Enjoy. ;-)

£12 a month interest free finance, I've given it a go. Daft question, and I'm expecting poor performance, but what sort of game can this run on low-mid settings?

    It's £499.99 at Argos. (edited)
    amour3k's avatar
The Argos price is a bump!

Saying that though, the Curry's website does say:

    "£299.00 Save £300.00
    Was £599.00 (from 09/07/22 to 09/08/22)".

Seems a good deal, why the lack of heat? Is there something I should know? £500+ everywhere else
    Ashe's avatar
Probably because half the time it's been out of stock/expired.
  9. usp892's avatar
Well I've looked and looked and have just bought (cheers OP) don't think you can do better for the price p.s according to questions on Argos site it might possibly have a backlite keyboard?
    thegalaxyboy's avatar
Nah. No back-light. Check specs and reviews on YouTube/Samsung sites. (edited)
  10. amour3k's avatar
Apart from the obvious thing's, like, eg. double hard drive space + £50 more, or whatever.

Is there much different, 'performance wise', over the OP's above laptop, and this former deal one:

    hotukdeals.com/dea…445

    Thanx.
  11. Actionnotwords69's avatar
Oos.... Although it is now showing a price of £359.
    amour3k's avatar
    You're right.

    That's New Year's price's for you. :-(

Then come 1+ Week's time, during the (quote/unquote) "January Sales", guess what will magically be back to £299.99? - from an aledged (cough cough cough cough), £359?

Kinda reminds 1 or 2 (so called) Black Friday deals, that were actually more expensive during that Black Friday/Cyber Monday Weekend, then 1 or 2 of those same thing's proved themselve's as being, literally 2+ Week's later?! (as in, BEFORE the Christmas build-up, even?).

    So ...

    Case in point:

    hotukdeals.com/com…832

    Note to self:

"Sales", you've got to luvvvvvvvv them, huh? :-(

    Hahahahahahahaha.

    Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh well. :-D

Have signed up for email updates so hopefully will come back in stock. Not in a rush so thanks for marking this up. Does look like Samsung are keen to shift stock of all their models which is encouraging.

Just been to see this laptop in a Currys store and I'm glad I didn't buy it. It's too big at 15.6 inches. Ideally you want something portable to lug around trains, airports etc. I would go maximum 14 inches
    SirThomas's avatar
    The bigger the better.
  22. steveyboy79's avatar
    OOS already. Shame.

This is back in stock for me. How robust are these? My autistic son keeps breaking the bezel round the screen and hinges on DELL (as he opens and shuts it a lot) so looking for something he can't break quite as easily.
    ayeworld's avatar
    Pretty well built laptop.
