Heat for the price. I have been using worx tools for a while and quite happy with them. I have recently found various adapters so you can use other batteries with them or use worx batteries with other tools. I have bought the worx to Makita adapters (others are available too like Dewalt etc…) as there seems to be a lot of items compatible with Makita and the battery prices seem to be more competitive. You can also get adapters for Makita to things like the Dyson handhelds. Moving forward I plan to upgrade each worx battery to a Makita over time. The Makita compatible tools are usually quite cheap, like fans from £12.99 here’s some examples:

On a side note if they all used the same standard a bit like usb c then everyones life would be much easier. (edited)

Great point here. I use the Worx to DeWalt adapters. Worx tools are fine but DeWalt batteries have so much more grunt.
One thing to be aware of - using the adapters bypasses the battery management system so your tool doesn't know when temperature is high or charge is low. Pushing it too hard can cause battery damage or fire. Not a huge issue with drills, saws etc cos they're not in constant use and if you notice a drop in performance you can immediately switch out the battery. With a fan like this, you'll just set and forget, possibly wrecking your expensive battery. Use at your own risk.
Also the adapters cannot be used for charging, and someone mentioned this fan doubles as a charger when plugged into mains, so you'll probably want to avoid doing that as well if using adapters.

possibly connect up to a solar panel rather than battery?

Nope, not solar, wind turbine only

I have the Aldi one which is exact same apart from colour and it wont take worx batteries. Its a very good powerful fan and battery last quite a while
