Yeah, this is correct. My mum did this a couple of months back and it got automatically deducted from the monthly bill when a purchase was made on the card.

Plus you get 10% off things like Virgin Trains, Travel and Zavvi(Virgin) megastore

so you have to make a purchase on the car? thats ok then I havent missed out - wasnt planning on making any purchases.

yeah, well about 2 months ago thats what it said on the site. Only requires a purchase.. not of a certain amount. Worth it though for saving that much off your bill.

Yes, you do have to make a purchase on the card in the first 90 days. I applied for one a few months back. When I didn't get the money I rang them and thats when they told me about the purchase requirement (they claimed the web site mentioned this, but it didn''t at the time - they basically said it was tough if I didn't know this!). Lukily I still had a couple of weeks until the 90 days were up. Made a purchase and then got the discount off my next bill. Don't think there is a minimum purchase though.

I was declined the Virgin Credit Card... have been accepted by several other companies and recently told by HSBC and Halifax Mortgage Lenders that my credit history is excellent! Don't have any CCJ's or any adverse credit history, yet very surprising to have been declined by Virgin.

Maybe they don't like customers with other credit cards... prefer Virgin's in that respect (sorry, couldn't resist!)

I did this a few months ago and have received the money of my bill. I'm sure you can get the £40 discount if you use it to do balance transfer too which is 0% for 15 months............ Very good deal.

Mate, I've got half a dozen credit cards and no mortgages. Most of them with no outstanding debt... I think they are just afraid that you take the money and run

Coz they want you to spend money and eventually pay fees. Next time, I may have to doctor the numbers when I apply for a card

I have half a dozen cards all with zero balance and one mortgage and I was approved, must be the mortgage making the difference. My intention is to use the card once to buy petrol, pay it off immediately and get the £40 off the bill. Then I will wait for the three months and close the account. Done it with loads of other CC incentives, works a treat.

£40 is £40 for nowt. Hot.

Nice find, i have nil balances on my halifax and tesco, phoning up monday to cancel my tesco one, ive applied for this tonight and approved, then will go to zavvi get a dvd and then get me £40 of me bill

on terms ive read theres no min buy, so will get a bargin dvd and go through quidco and get extra off!!! cant come at a better time!!!
