EXPIRED - Car Insurance Due? - Get GBP 50 cash back from the Post Office plus an extra GBP 23.80 off

106°

FOUND BY: diggergraves 3 months, 4 weeks ago

EXPIRES: 31/07/2008

Just searched the comparison site moneysupermarket.com on 3 separate vehicles for cheapest car insurance quotes and the Post Office won each time because of a current GBP 50 cash back they are offering until 31 Jul 08.

You can earn additional cash back of GBP 23.80 via giveortake.com or cashbacknetwork.co.uk (similar to Quidco). I appreciate other companies offer more cashback via Quidco et al but I though this may be worth a pop to some of us.

Buy our car insurance and we'll give you £50 cashback*:

save up to £209.84

we check our panel of top insurers for our best price

choice of cover

optional breakdown cover

easy monthly payments option (subject to status)

fast, friendly, expert claims service

easy to apply, easy to claim

immediate cover available

Terms & Conditions of £50 cashback car insurance

cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer

offer ends 31st July 2008

within this offer period we reserve the right to withdraw the offer at any time

your original means of payment will be credited with £50, no sooner than 60 days after the policy start date and no later than 70 days after the start date

offer applies to new customers only

Post Office Ltd reserves the right to reclaim the £50 cashback if you cancel your policy within 12 months of receiving your policy documentation

maximum of one £50 cashback per policy

does not apply to rebroked policies or after policy amendments

Worth a quote?

I took out insurance with the Post Office with a similar offer just over a year ago. I finally got the cashback they had promised via their adverts (not quidco) about 5 months after the policy had started and only after I'd threatened to do a chargeback on my credit card for the original payment and to take out insurance elsewhere.

They made so many excuses that it wasn't funny. Strangely enough I didn't renew with them this year. Not saying it isn't a good offer but be prepared for a scrap with them to get your money.

Beware of large excesses on their policies. They also give you the hard sell when you ring to say you are not renewing.

Both myself and OH have had insurance through the PO before, never a problem during or when moving to another supplier.

Not necessarily the same with this but I did the post office home phone offer of £50 and it took several calls and about 6 months until they actually paid the money despite numerous promises.

I went with the Post Office last year on this deal, got a Postal Order for £50, didn't know postal orders still existed.
Anyway
Went with Churchill this year via Quidco for £100 cashback - very prompt payment, less than 2 months.

I did this, quidco came through straight away, the £50 we will have to wait 60 to 70 days they say so I will see. I went with PO because although I got one cheaper quote on confused with someone else, when I went through quidco it wouldn't give me a quote (hung on the retrieving details page) and had to go for this in the end but anyway check on the comparison sites first!

I used them for insuring my husbands car last year and I got a real bargain.

Policy £ 205.00

Mrs Cashback £ 100.00

Po cashback £ 50.00

Therefore policy for the year cost £ 55.00 after cashback, that included NCD, protected no claims etc ets.

Cashback was paid promptly, so we were well happy.

Just about to go for some car ins brokered by the PO. The excess was fine as it's even with the Insurer I'm already with. They said 70 days for cashback paid via a refund to my original payment method.

When my renewal came up my bank offered to undercut any renewal deal I got with any insurer. They're all at it.

I've gone with the Post Office this year as they gave me the lowest quote by far as well as the extra £50 back.

Heat added.
