EXPIRED - Sainsbury's Life Insurance from £5p/m £50 Sainsbury's Vouchers and £80 Quidco Cashback

301°

FOUND BY: bodebobo 3 months, 2 weeks ago

EXPIRES: 14/07/2008

Sainsbury's Life insurance (provided by Legal and General) can help protect your family or your mortgage from only £5 a month and if you take out a policy online by 14th July 2008, you'll receive a £50 Sainsbury's voucher

I think this may have been posted before but it looks like they have just re-launched with a new, improved incentive. I took this out last month when it was 3000 nectar points (£15) so I obviously wish I had waited! C'est la vie!

Add in the £80 you get for going through quidco and thats effectively £130 cashback.

I obviously wouldn't condone abuse of such offers (!) but even if you kept the insurance for a year you could in effect get free insurance and up to £70 in you pocket....

Just got a quote for life insurance
The minimum term is 2 years
If you apply for family cover on a single policy with a payout of £40750 it works out at £5 per month.
I think thats the cheapest you can go.
You are still paying £120 over 2 years but gettin back £130 in vouchers and quidco,so quite a good deal
Suppose u could always try n cancel after u get the vouchers and quidco
Cheers OP

"For level life cover, the term of the plan can be from 1 to 40 years."

I assume that means it's possible to get a 1 year policy.

You decide how long you want the cover for.

For Level Term Assurance the term of the plan can be from 1 to 40 years* and the plan must end by age 70 next birthday. However, the plan can last beyond your 70th birthday if the term is 10 years or less.

*If a one year term is chosen then the Terminal Illness Cover will not apply.

For Decreasing Term

Won't let me choose one year tho.

Term cover isn't the "minimum" length of the policy it's the maximum length.

i.e. If you are 30 years old and take out a 40 year term policy, then the premiums will be fixed for 40 years, and based on the risk of you dieing before 70. If you take out a 5 year term, then the risk is based on dieing before 35 so much lower!

Looking at the T&Cs, you can cancel (at any time) by giving written notice, and if you cancel your Direct Debit, cover will stop after 30 days.

You should budget for a mimimum of 3 months worth of premiums to be taken before cancelling though, and IMHO 12 months cover would be less abusive!

Rufus.

I actually need life insurance, but have to check out providers too. Quote for what I want is in the ball park but maybe not the cheapest in the long run even with quidco and voucher. Might take it up and cancel if I can get a better quote elsewhere for what I need.
