I bought one of these about a month ago when they wer £59.99 DOH!

Anyway, I think they are very good, they auto power on when the computer comes on if you leave it plugged in.

Mine came formated as FAT32, which is fine unless you want to store any files on it over 4gb in size like an image of a DVD.
Not a problem though I just reformated to NTFS and then I could do it.

I've said this on here before about these drives, they are unreliable. I got one from Ebuyer in March and it lasted a month before XP wouldn't recognise it. Quite a few negatives on Amazon for this drive although Ebuyer reviews are favourable.

I'm still trying to recover my data from it before sending it back to Ebuyer.

It's fairly chunky. In terms of measurements, it's way out of the credit card range, and probably into the King Size Snickers sort of area. It's about the length of a King Size Snickers, about the height of one on its side, and about as wide as maybe five or six King Size Snickers bars on their side and pushed together. Alternatively, it's about the size of a normal DVDRW drive. It comes with a power supply too (which isn't massive, about the same size as 3 Kit Kats stacked) , making it even less pocket-friendly for moving it around.

It's a fairly decent drive, mind you. Performance is rather poor (you're looking at about 30MB/s transfer rates maximum, which compares to up to 90MB/s trasnfer rates for internal Samsung Spinpoint drives costing less money), but the drive is blissfully quiet, and it seems quite happy to turn itself on and off automatically, which is a neat time-saving feature for the energy concious.

Does this not power off the USB then?
