EXPIRED - TIP-You don't have to spend £50 for 5p Fuel Voucher

264°

FOUND BY: shanevon 3 months, 4 days ago

STARTS: 01/07/2008   EXPIRES: 01/08/2008

Sorry if it has been posted before-new to this. Just sharing my experiences. If you do your shopping online and buy only Bogoffs' & Multibuys as I do it gives you a projected total for your shopping. So if you total is over £50 but includes loads of Bogoffs' etc your actual total is lower but they still give you the fuel voucher. For example since the fuel offer has been on I have done 2 shops both for £60 actual cost was £35 and still got voucher. Everytime the fuel offer is on I have done this and have 100% success. Every little helps!!

Then you take into account the delivery charge and the fact you have to actually visit a Tesco store to get your petrol. Sort of takes the edge off it tbh.

It is a good tip, especially when using the various money-off vouchers that float around. I have been doing this myself - but never thought about posting it as a deal. Heat & rep added

In my experience it depends on the store and the person doing it .... I've had occasions when you dont get a voucher because the on the day amount is lower (Colchester Branch)

Absolutely true tbh this isn't really a deal. Everytime Tesco run the petrol promotion this happens but sometimes you'll get the voucher and sometimes you won't. It's pot luck and depends on who does your invoice and whether they notice or not - it's certainly not something you can 'bank' on. Also i've read over on another forum recently that the same thing is starting to happen with money off vouchers and BOGOF's as it works in the same way. Tesco in my experience have always accepted the vouchers even though with the offers your bill is under the min. spend required. However there seems to be quite a few people recently saying that the vouchers are being accepted at checkout and when their shopping is delivered Tesco have refused to accept the money off voucher as the min. spend has not been met.

I have never paid a delivery charge for my grocery delivery from Tesco (or Asda) as there is always a voucher floating around that covers at least the delivery charge and sometimes a few quid more.

When I fill up it tends to be at a time when I don't want to (or don't have time to) go grocery shopping. I pass by a couple of Tesco stores on my route to work so it's not really any hassle to go in just to fill up.

Having experimented with this a little, I have found that so long as your total spend online is over the threshold for the voucher, then the voucher applies and is automatically used.
Bear in mind that the online total does not take into account any BOGOF's as they are only calculated and deducted at checkout time, so if that brings your total below the threshold it makes no difference, the voucher is still applied.

That is exactly what happened to me on yesterdays delivery so it is current information..........

Yup, that is exactly what I mean it has always worked for me too - and I've done countless online shops with them without a problem using a voucher in that way . I was pointing that for the last 2/3 weeks there have been quite a few people on other forums starting to experience the problem that I was refering too. And with regard to the petrol voucher you definately cannot rely on getting the voucher if your BOGOF's take you under the min. spend. You just need to see it as a bonus if you do .

Not really, I have five stations within a mile or so. All at 115.9p except for Tesco at a penny more. So, overall a saving of 4p per litre - about £2 a tank or thereabouts.

I'm sorry, but Tesco's prices have gone up by 22% - more than any other supermarket. They should be giving you a free tank of petrol a month just to say thank you for shopping with them.
Just a thought..................
