The more powerful the invertor the more powerfull your 12 volt battery has to be,i had standard battery on my car and my 300 watt inverter wouldnt power a 65 watt tv unless the car was running ..

no, you have to connect it to a car battery and it gives you a 3 pin socket so you can plug stuff in to it and power it from the battery instead of the mains.

I got 1 from Halfords,cost about £40,mines can be plugged in cigarette lighter socket and has been a god send on long journeys for my wee boy using his lap top, it's quite strange you can plug all number of household electricals into it,even a kettle if you wish. I think these are great, this 1 would not be any good for me,as I needed 1 that could be used inside car for obvious reasons,but this looks a good option at a good price for camping etc. nice find.

I think the 1 posted needs to be attached to battery via crocodile clips, I think could be wrong?

Hmm.. just done a search on the 800w and I think it can be plugged straight into the lighter socket.

Can anyone confirm?
