Fantastic TV for both HD material and will give a better image than virtually any other HD tv on the market for standard definition feeds.

I'd use this offer to get John Lewis to price match thoguh to get a better service/warranty

What I find amazing, unrelated to this exact thread, is when you see advert for TVs - HD, whatever - on television... and they show you the amazing picture quality... and you are seeing it on your existing TV!

They are counting on enough people being dumb enough to think, 'Wow, That looks so amazing - so much better than my current set up.'

These adverts are on *all the time* - how dumb do they think we are?!

Obviously, they must be right about consumers being dumb or they wouldn't do it.

Like with prices still ending in 99p or 95p instead of being in whole pounds. How did that cheap psychological trick last more than a week?

Humans are such dumb creatures...

For all the 1080p morons, unless its 55" or larger, you are unable to see ANY difference between 720p material and 1080p material.
Don't believe me, go to a small store (not currys, dixons or any of those morons) and put a 40" HD ready and a 1080p set from the same manufacturer along side each other and feed them both with the same 1080p material.
You'll need about 30mins and a magnifying glass to see any difference.
I have the 37" px80b and the new 40" sony TFT 1080p.
I drive them both with a popcorn hour player with both 720p and 1080p material.
The panasonic is BY FAR the better picture.
The only downside to the plasma is b&w material, if it moves quickly I sometimes see the colour scan effect.
All plasmas suffer this to a degree, some people see it more than others.
As for this model, check out the reviews, it is constantly in the top 5 of ALL HD tv's.
