Advice on a Dell Inspiron 530S Desktop

I purchased an inspiron in march, i changed the specification around though on there website. I paid £610.00 for mine, and that included an extra 3 years warranty, on hardware and software. My Spec was this: -

I did it online but wanted XP instead of vista becuase i do not like vista, so i rang them up and they rang me back, and i dealt with a really nice gentleman, who gave me £100 discount and let me use the voucher code for 10% what i found on the internet, mine should of been over 800 quid. So if you want a discount code and the guys email to email him and tell him a friend recommended him to you, and could he ring you etc etc, he should sort you out. If you want it just let me know xx

it really depends what you intend to use it for -- you could pick up a dell desktop which will perform all general duties including any media center like functionality (especially if you specify vista home premium to get the media center app) for a lot less that you budget (half that i would say).

I bought a Dell quad with 22" screen for about £440..........that would be more than adequate for your needs.

Alternatively, you could easily build a media rig with hd dvd/blu ray drive for under £500.

Is the screen too big?

That depends entirely on the viewing distance.

I use my 22" screen to watch dvd's etc when in bed...........maybe 5 ft from the screen and it seems just right to me.
