ORANGE - Retention deals: what are people being offered?? LIST YOURS HERE.........

POSTED BY: LazyDonkey 3 months, 4 weeks ago

Currently out of contract and looking to upgrade - what are the best deals that people are being offered?
My first call to 343 resulted in a £25 a month - Any phone free, 700mins, 100 texts pathetic 18 month deal. A call to retentions is looming, but I'd be interested to know what other people are being offered.

I desperately want free browsing but apparently Orange pulled that offer at the end of July.

In addition, has the free iPod Touch expired?

Free Data

for

£20 first 9 months and
£25 for the second 9 months

18 month Contract

I was three weeks off the end of a 18 month contract. I couldn't take it as I wasn't at home but wish I had now! THink you're right about them pulling the unlimited data - !!!!!

Any other retention deals?

I did notice instore yesterday that Orange are offering the free iPod Touch deal again with certain handsets.
Assistant inside though informed me that it was only for NEW customers.
Dont Orange have a policy treating existing customers the same as new??

the retentions deals are specific to the customer, looking at how much they have spent in the past etc. So not sure its worth listing individuals 'deals' ?

absolutely correct. Orange have a band system in place, placing customers on a certain band. I mean the lower the band the lest value you are to Orange, the highest band the more vlaue you are to Orange.

I mean, my bills are always coming to £250+ with Orange, and I have more then 1 line, hence why I can so much discounts !, I even got 8800 Arte free

No wonder they like you - I thought you was 'currently on Dolphin 35 for £6 a month' ????

Surely if people post there offered deals along with how much they normally spend, length of time with Orange and banding etc....it should help those try to negotiate a good retention deal.

I currently get Dolphin 35 for £20 a month, which I don't think is too bad really seeing as I've never spent a lot with Orange.

Im still considering my options as I was offered the following by the upgrade dept:-

HTC Diamond £70
200 mins + Unlimited Texts for £20 a month.

Informed the uninterested guy that I was going to leave and asked for the retentions dept. I was then offered the following after being told that I had £380 of discount available to me as an existing customer out of contract:-

Free HTC Diamond or Samsung i900 Omnia
600 mins, unlimted text & data
£27.50

I still dont think that is great, but the lady was bending over backwards to keep my custom as soon as I mentioned wanting an iPhone.

Apparrently the £380 allowance is split between £70 for the upgrade phone and £310 can be used to reduce the monthly charge or buy accessories. Just need to work out the best talk plan that will give me the greatest reduction.

Anyone else been told their own personal 'discount allowance' amount by retentions?
