If they are selling for a pound, how much goes to the people who make these?! What conditions do they have to work in? Can they afford to feed their children, or are the clothes made by children? Take a look at the websites of ActionAid, Labour Behind the Label, Oxfam and War on Want. According to Actionaid, workers in Bangladash get as little as 5p-an-hour for 14-hour days.

The cost of living isn't the same as other countries, and at least they're not out of work.

So you think 70p for a 14-hour day, to use Actionaid's example, is OK?

The point is that the lower prices get, the more the overseas workers are forced to work longer hours for poverty pay as they struggle to house and feed themselves and their families.

We COULD pay a few pence more and allow the people who make our clothes to earn a living wage. Why don't we do that?

who cares and who made you the conscience police to give us a dressing down for wanting to get a bargain. I'm gonna buy that bikini in protest I should maybe also wear it and send you a photo for your attempt at making people feel guilty but i ain't gonna be shaving my legs or my beer belly
