The Toshiba 42XV505DB LCD HD Ready Digital Television features Active Vision LCD, a high performance picture processing system that enhances detail, colour, movement and contrast to give a fantastic image.

Clever Luma Sens technology detects brightness levels in the room and adjusts the contrast levels, producing images of high detail while consuming less energy.

The inclusion of 1080p Full HD means that any compatible Blu-ray DVD player will give you a fantastic picture, as the director intended, when connected via an HDMI cable.

Clever SRS Wow will draw you into the viewing experience even further, using the 2 built-in front speakers to create a 3-D audio effect. You’ll really believe you’re in the crowd when watching the big match. Alternatively, a socket allows you to use your headphones so that you don’t disturb others. Or they don’t disturb you!

The Toshiba 42XV505DB also features an integrated digital tuner for a wider choice of terrestrial channels, plus connections to link the TV up to your computer, great for surfing the internet on the big screen or doing some online shopping in style!

The option to fully power down the TV allows you to switch off the set completely - the 42XV505DB won’t consume any power at all.

This television is ‘high definition ready’ which means it has the ability to display high definition signals with the addition of a separate HD receiver. HD broadcasts are at a much higher resolution than regular analogue or digital broadcasts and have greatly enhanced picture quality. The level of detail is astonishing with clearer, sharper and more vibrant images.

1080p
1080p is the purest form of high definition that a television can display. This leads to a smoother, more film-like image, which will satisfy sports and movie lovers alike. With a 1080p signal, the information that makes up an image is displayed “progressively” or all at once, rather than in an “interlaced” fashion.

Oh and guys, I actually have this TV from end of April , the very first batch and its very good for this price, amazing in fact, I use it with my PC with HDMI as a monitor and PS3. TV is nothing special as i've seen with all these 1080p TVs, but then again I do not watch TV. I even payed cheapest then of £680.

Seems credit crunch is hitting TVs hard to our benefit.

Also this TV has no marks or blemish on it or dead pixels, and generally from avforums.com we can deduce has no issues at all compared to other sets. I had a 46 inch 1080p set from sharp which I sent back twice and got a refund cos I had all sorts of black marks on the TV when playing games and had a consistent colour moving (like the sky).

D.

I can only guess that what he means is the £100 price difference is worth it for a 5 year warranty, which would set you back the £229 price tag he quoted for a 5 year warranty from Laskys, making their price closer to £829 with the price of their warranty included... I could be wrong here though.

Yeh, because paying a £100 for a five year warranty makes no sense at all? Just buy a new telly if it goes wrong after two years

Well that makes financial sense..................not!

Based on the fact that for just £100 more for a 5 year warranty from JL (works out at 5p a day) I too vote this deal cold.

I have to say i'm not too good with these things but I was wondering if this price is a mistake on john lewis's part.

If so, maybe i should get mine before they realise???

Would appreciate feedback on this please guys.

Thanx
