i'm pretty sure that's the GeForce 7050 PV; see some info here: http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.c...id=2152&page=2 hopefully the PC has HDMI as a result, tho that may not be the case here, looks like the GPU uses up to 256MB of system RAM during gameplay

integrated, rival for the AMD 690G, yr looking at around 20fps in doom 3 at med res, so you'd need a proper GPU for modern gaming

Can you add a dedicated graphics card to this system (say something like a Zotac 8800)?

Thanks!

the spec mentions PCI slots, i think they mean PCI-E, most mobos that cope with a quad core will have PCI-E slots

with it having the 7050 chipset which came out summer last year, it's a fairly up to date motherboard, so PCI-E will be present, as for the Zotac 8800 it depends on the length of the card, most cases will accommodate an 8800, but there are a few out there that do not, don't open the box that the graphics card comes in before you know the length, that way you can send it back if you have made a mistake

I bought the model 2414 and put in a 8600gt. The best card I could get with a 250w fan.
Performs well with a Windows Experience Index of 4.5 from 2.something!
Good deal, although I was unable to burn my recovery disc.
I am guessing that as it was a refurb the previous owner did that and returned it!
Otherwise looked mint.

Hmm... DSG refurb....

Given that I've never once seen a single PC purchased from DSG (that's about 5 pcs/laptops over the space of nearly a decade) that hasn't catastrophically failed within a week, and the last two refurbs I saw from DSG one had almost completely destroyed mouse pad / buttons (on a laptop) and another had a hard drive with about a billion bad sectors (just the act of turning it on corrupted the C partition, had to recover from D, luckily that worked and the first thing i did was burn recovery disks, then it went completely and i had to replace, this is all within a week)....

It may be ok but basically don't expect DSG to have fixed the original issue, and you'll either have to reply on PB warrenty or your self to fix it.

Packard Bell refurb is a no no for me. For the specs it looks like a good price, but it's an unreliable packard bell so I'm not voting cold or hot. Plus it's Currys, makes it that much more worse.
