Is this model End of Line? I can't find it listed on the Lenovo website.

There are some proper pictures of it here:
http://www.thinklenovo.co.uk/Lenovo_...UK/version.asp

The vista buisness downgrade rights are provided by microsoft not ebuyer/lenovo so you may pay for postage if you don't have a windows XP CD and you will have to install it yourself.

The resolution may be a bit on the low side for some people but it's the same as you'd expect from a 15" desktop monitor so this may be a good choice for anyone that doesn't have the best eyesight.

Not a bad deal if you don't mind the 4:3 screen, although now that I'm used to 16:10 on desktops and laptops I can't go back!!

A very solid and reliable machine, but quite dated in design it looks identical to my 41/2 year old R50e

I'd be more concerned about the resolution, it's very poor for a 15" laptop screen. I have a Dell D600 (14") and Toshiba M200 tablet (12") and both are 1400x1050 resolution -- much more screen real estate than this laptop! Looks good other than that though.

Personally I much prefer 4:3 on computers. Widescreen is fine if you're watching movies, but often doing productive work you often need vertical space just as much as horizontal -- e.g. coding, reading web pages etc. 4:3 is even more of a boon on the desktop as it's cheap to have dual displays now. I have two 20" 4:3 screens for a combined resolution of 3200x1200 .

1GB of RAM and a poor screen resolution? No thanks.

If you don't have much to spend, don't try to buy a poor-mans Ferrari - get a Hyundai (or in this case something like an Advent K1501)

Very unhappy with the service I got from Lenovo (and it's promotional partners) when I bought a Lenovo n200 from ebuyer earlier in the year - in the end I sent it back for a full refund.

If you have any support issues with the hardware (keep in mind I'm highly technically minded) you're left floundering posting on their naff support pages/forums.

Don't ever be fooled into thinking this is IBM - it's a cheapo Chinese company through and through.

Very low resolution, rendering this laptop almost worthless as you can't upgrade it. It's cheap, but personally I'd have one with a much better monitor.

I've used their machines for ages. Any calls to support have been resolved to my satisfaction.

What does being Chinese have to do anything with their quality or their attitude?

No but it is in it's EOL cycle- you'll find a glut of offers coming up over the next 6 weeks as OEMs try and move the non Montevina based products out of dsitribution.

REasonable point but surely the D600 and definitely the tablet were not £299 so it aint really ana pples for apples comparison - a common issue for heAds of purchasing in mutil national corporations when we deal with them so I suppose not too unexpected here

You've been unfortunate for sure but Dell, HP, Lenovo, Tosh etc etc etc - they are all far east ODM/OEM models. It aint unique to Lenovo
