Silly Thing To Do ?

Bit of a random and strange thread but here it goes.

Where do I start ?. Ok so I have a bit of a soft spot for all things gadget like and tend to go out and buy things I don't need which brings me to my current niggle. Basically I would like a new phone, that been the Samsung Omnia. The problem ?, I'm currently in a 12 Month Contract with Orange which I only started in May currently costing £20PCM.

Now the Samsung is available with Videofone on a 12 Month £35PCM Contract free, a good deal I must say !. My other problem though I don't tend to make many calls or txt a lot of people so I'd end up with two contacts costing £55 per month and I wouldn't hardly use the minutes etc. I'm only working part-time at the moment but can still afford it (One of the perks of living at home with cheap rent, no bills etc)

I tried loading off my current contract to a family member but they particularly interested so I can't get away with that. So that leads me here, I need talking out of doing this !

You only live once I guess but still.

Go on tell me it's a silly idea !

Would your current contract company not upgrade from 20ppm to a deal @ 35ppm with the newer phone if you contacted them and explained it.

If not, then having 2 phones and paying out 55ppm on them when you wont use the texts and calls is just plain silly.

Put the £35 it would cost for the new phone aside every month anyway and at the end of the year you will have £400+ to buy a real cracker.
