Back in July they were offering Sky HD to new customers for £75 (Box) and £30 install. I asked for the same deal and they would only offer a new Sky+ box. I threatened to leave (after being with them for 10 years as a loyal customer) and they let me go. More fool them ....... I'm waiting for the freesat box with hard drive to come out any time now and won't have to py any ongoing rental.

If they won't offer you a good deal walk with your feet is my recommendation.

There seems to be an offer on at the moment where existing (as well as new) customers can get Sky HD for £75 and £30 install fee. See http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=789636

Some people have had problems getting it, while others are quoted a £60 install fee, but 2 days ago I used the 01506 number and 1,4,5,3,4 option and said that I was thinking of multiroom and I have heard about a £75 HD offer, and I was offered it with £30 install. I do have the sports and I have to keep sports for the next 12 months.

Ian.

But unless you subscribe to the full package, the extra tenner for the small amount of HD content you are expected to pay is a complete rip off. As the others have said... FREESAT.

i have just seen this post and called the downgrade dept to tell them i wanted to take off my movies and i got offered this deal, sky hd installed next saturday for £105 total, i took it and am well pleased, been lookin to get it for ages so £105 is much better than the 200 pound plus they were quoting before
again like ian said above i have to keep a premium channel i.e the movies or sports for 12 months but i dont mind that

similar to the previous post,i went through the whole cancellation process and got offered sky hd for £75 but i had to pay £60 installation instead of £30 because i dont have sports or movies.it was fitted 2 days later [saturday 20th sept] and was worth every penny.had a slight problem with the engineer not setting my box up properly [at least thats who sky blamed] so i had to phone up for my hd subscription to work.£10 a month for the hd sub but to be honest i dont mind that, and when you see the nature programmes on discovery hd it will justify the price! i heard a rumour all the movie channels are going to be in hd from next month as well! best thing yet,i got a card through the door this morning to get the movie channels for £5 for 3 months,i cant believe my luck! off to phone them now........
