CRUISES-NEVER BEEN BEFORE-RECOMMENDATION FOR OCTOBER HOLS??

Has anyone experience please-would like to take Mum age 78 and kids 15 and 6..I think around 24th October school hols although would suffer the wrath of the teachers and take em out of school for a few days either side.
Budget maybe upto £800 or so each if all inc..and would prefer from Southampton or another UK port-or a short flight-majorca etc...no 9hour flights!
Please help if you have any ideas as i have looked at a few sites and dont know where to start!

Try the Thomson site. There is a 7 nt cruise on the Thomson celebration from Paphos (flight from London) on 22/10/08 (Pharoahs and the Promised Land) £795 full board.Possibly worth a look.

Heres one a little you might have not considered
a nile cruise in Egypt, went on one last year, fabulous for under £400 p.p included flights,transfers,full board on 5 star boat, and 10 excursions, get to see all the history of ancient egypt. Fab food, entertainment on the boat etc

nile cruise-was the food ok -i saw a program years ago where they all threw up all week
im sure it wouldnt be like that from what you have said-but ofcourse at 78 we have to be careful for Mum

and while i like ireland and the irish im not so sure about october-probably more rain-lol

the attitude i had from her lately its tempting to leave her at home locked in the cupboard
from what ive read they have teen discos etc..and she makes friends soo fast-and almost always keeps in touch when home-so we dont usually have a problem!
I knew yur daughter was similar age-didnt know the little guy was 6 too-great age eh
