Such a shame I don't meet the age and license requirements to enter, I was so looking forward to handing over a £1k deposit once my entry was pulled from the hat . That's totally a reasonable request for the winner of a free prize.

Apparently they have this fantastic invention known as 'insurance' nowadays, and these 'insurers' apparently employ a selection of people whose job it is to not only pay to fix things that have been 'insured', but also to recover the money they spent doing that from the person who caused the damage. Who knew that a whole industry could spring up around this?

According to wikipedia it's only been available since 2-3000 BC though, and didn't get really popular until about 500 BC.
