Ski Holidays

POSTED BY: keith43 2 months, 1 day ago

I am looking to go skiing in Jan 09. Been looking around, the best website I can find is neilson.com. Any one know any other good sites?

Thomsonski & crystal are worth a look at. They are the same company but have different deals to the same hotels. We booked with crystal for Alpe Duez on the 10th of Jan 2009 - £1500 for family (2 adults 3 children). Its now more expensive on crystals website but is now around the same price we paid on Thomson ski. A good tip would be to look at the ski club of great britain's website. It has links to lots of holiday companys.

I really can't recommend Thomson. My defining moment from a holiday with them was a load of four year olds crying in a carpark at 5am because they were freezing to death after the utterly hopeless rep wouldn't let anyone on the coaches. Crystal are exactly the same and they often share resources. Neilson is a different operator and I have heard reasonable things about them before.

I would suggest you search by finding a suitable resort first and then looking into smaller operators, who are specific to that region or resort. Our best holidays have been done this way.

If not, look at igluski and ifyouski.

Dont forget 5% quidco for Neilson.
As for companys they are all much the same. you can never find a rep when you need one.

ingams.co.uk
ifyouski.com
skideals.com

are ones I check when we head off

Still you can do it MUCH cheaper if you sort it yourself, renting a chalet can be super reasonable if you book it privately. Spec if you can drive then no need to worry about sorting flights for the same dates. Ski companies prey on people being lazy, unlike most summer holidays, ski holidays often do NOT include transfer, which from the airport to the slopes (in europe) tend to start around £100 pp up to £350 depending on where your resort/airport is.
