EXPIRED - FS: Faulty phat PS2 with controller and wires

POSTED BY: gav989 1 month, 3 weeks ago

EXPIRES: 02/10/2008

as title, pictures in second post. cost me £235 originally (i forgot they were ever that expensive!) and comes with scart cable, red/white/yellow to 21 pin scart block thing (see pictures), power cable, official ps2 controller and documentation.

DETAILS OF THE FAULT: it's the classic laser fault. it started with failing to read ps1 games, then it became ps2 games on CDROMs, then dvds, and finally dvdroms. it sometimes reads a dvdrom ps2 game but it's very rare that it is successful. when it fails to read a game it shows the browser menu area with "disc read error" message displayed. i'll try my best to give more details of the problem if anyone has any questions

looking to sell mainly for spares/repairs

Shipping/Payment Instructions: looking for £17 delivered since it would have to be packaged well etc. pickup or meet for collection would be preferred, I live in the fareham area (near bishops waltham if you know it) and will soon be attending southampton university, so i can probably bring it there with me if that suits anyone. price without postage would be £5

if there is no interest i would consider seling the bits that work (controller and wires) but i'll decide how to go about that should the situation arise

.

NEW PRICE, now £14 delivered

Cool - quite an old model then (I'd say the SCPH-39003 is the most common Phat PS2 - decent laser tooo, mine still works) -probs needs a completely new laser.

You can send it via Parcel 2 Go for £7.56 you know.

On the Laser there is a small oscillator screws. one for CD and one for DVD you can try to adjust these and it may work again.

only turn them a small amount at a time. This will not affect the ps2 at all if this does not work.

I have done this on a 3 before and only one still did not work.

Worth a try

hi sorry was typing a post for an xbox 360 for sale, but it logged me out while i was typing and it disappeared when i pressed submit (so...angry...)

just power cable, av cable and console, i can probably get a jiffy to fit it in for about £1.50 so how does £12 sound? i assume a jiffy would be enough packaging. feel free to make a cheaper/better suggestion on packaging, i've not posted something like this before

ok well i've not dealt with parcel2go before, so i can't guarantee their care, but there's gotta be some sort of insurance or something in case they smash it. unless they chuck it about a jiffy should be fine. i'll have a look at alternative packaging options in a post office or at uni tomorrow
