POSTED BY: volcom883 1 month, 2 weeks ago

hi,
i would like to apply for the halifax cashback credit card but i have recently stopped working. im a s student at present.
on the website it says this: You also need to be over 18 and a UK resident with a regular income.
yes i have an income but i dont work anymore. will they see through the credit report agency if im on the payroll/whether im currently working/how much im getting or something?

thanks

They won't know from your credit report.

Your earnings won't be recorded.

They could check somehow though I think, otherwise everyone could just say they earn 100K.

Open a student account. You get an overdraft and credit card.

You can do that, but you would be breaking the law.

The lenders may check the details that you give, this rarely happens, but it may become normal practice int the current economic climate.

Nice to see that credit card companies are still lending money responsibly!

It's not like there is a global credit problem....................................

yeah bu the AMEX is not accepted by some shops cos of the higher charge(to retailers) and also for warranty purpuses. like with if you payed with amex and your item had gone wrong AMEX will fight until the end to get a refund for you or something..
and i also forgot to mention the difficulty to pass the credit check for AMEX...
whereas the halifax is just a maestro!

I personaly wouldn't have gone near the halifax card at the moment. With halifax's future in the balance at the moment it is a bit risky to enter into any sort of agreement with them imo.

Halifax future not really in the balance, about to become UKs biggest bank - besides on a credit card you owe them not vice versa so it wouldnt matter?
