Oh God, not these chargers again! The batteries are good but the charger has no cut out and auto switch off when battery is fully charged. .. so essentially the deal is £4 for two batteries and the charger goes to a land fill.. alternative is to buy them , 4 for £6 at Screwfix or £? at ASDA. A workaround when you have no other better charger(they charge in a standard Ni-MH charger) is to put a timer on it.

Given that the charger is not worth having this is expensive for two Hybrio batteries

Know what you saying, I charge at work, so when plug in at 9:00am know next day after lunch at 2:00pm they are charged.
I voted hot, thanks for the info on 4 for 6, might get them also

I'm not sure if this is one of those but i'm in agreement that no cut out and auto switch means a bad charger. From what i've read and from my experience, express chargers are also to be avoided.

I use an Ansmann Energy charger after realising my mistake in buying ****** Uniross express chargers in the past. Technology moves very fast with chargers and more modern ones have full lcd display readouts which i am in no position to comment on.

http://www.battery-force.co.uk are a good place for finding chargers but no doubt there are cheaper places.

Also i much prefer these hybrio over standard Ni-Mh batteries, especially if you don't use the batteries a long time after charging. These ones hold their charge very well for months whereas in that time the Ni-Mh will be completely discharged.

edit- good price at Homebase - thanks!!

With all the electronic gizmos we buy on here a good supply of well charged batteries is essential

As I written above forget about those cheap chargers and invest in at least two decent ones. Even Uniross sell better chargers for the Hybrios than the ones that is shown in the picture above. Just see for yourself on the Uniross web site.

I have one Energizer one that charges in <15 mins. It is needed for urgent demand when the other batteries are flat. This one I use to charge the good quality panasonic or Energizer ones. For non urgent need, when I have 6 to 8 hours I use a slower charger with cut out and auto switch off. Decent chargers will make your batteries last longer. I have just come back from the shop in Whitechapel High Street, London where I bought two packs of the Hybrio AA X 4 for £10 total, so it is £5 per pack. http://www.totalblankmedia.com/ Once discounted expect to pay £1 to £1.25 per Hybrio AA battery. When you have a battery of 30 or so Ni-MH batteries you know that you are saving buckets of money on the alkaline batteries you will know best chargers (spend up to £15 each) make sense. I now have 50% high capacity Ni-MH and 50% Hybrios and Panasonic Infinium ones.

Lidl has a charger on offer this week, and IIRC from this forum, it is an identical copy of a much more expensive charger - uses a pulse charge system
