You'd struggle too if 3 or 4 people jumped on you like that,

I'm not sure that what they did was legal either, he wasn't aggressive towards them until they jumped on him, then that's where he struggled, ok he had the hockey stick in his hand but it was never raised or used in an intimidating manner by him, in fact one of the guys who pinned him down picked it up and used it against him, chances are not one of them have had any training in restraint techniques in fact its obvious they haven't. They could have easily cause injury to him. I had to do a three day training course a few years back with south yorkshire police just doing restraint techniques in order to work the doors and was told that anything other than approved methods can leave you open to charges if you hurt someone other than the brief pain used in the techniques (this pain goes within seconds of letting go)
