Motorola can't have much confidence in it if it's released before even the reviewer sample reviews, never mind reviewers who pay out of pocket to give more in-depth reviews. Yikes.

Not sure about that price, maybe it's okay, would like to see reviews, but assuming you can find a deal on the Poco X6 Pro - the 12+512GB model is £335 on Amazon with Amazon as the seller, has been less but my time machine is broken - and if you didn't want the free buds, maybe the Poco is the way to go, especially if gaming is a priority, spec wise.

Cobbling together a mixture of Nanoreview's comparator and Youtube side-by-sides, take with a pinch of might be wrong

Reasons to go for the Poco

    • Newer Bluetooth version (v5.4), apparently Motorola is v5.2
    • Slow-motion recording at 1920FPS
    • Compatible with Wi-Fi 6 wireless networks
    • Has 2 SIM card slots
    • Higher screen resolution 1220 x 27122
    • 13% higher pixel density (446 vs 393 PPI)
    • Faster storage type - UFS 4.0 versus UFS 2.2
    • Much higher ANTUTU score 1.524.288 as against 593.093
    • 65% faster in single-core GeekBench 6 test: 1502 and 913 points
    • Has a built-in infrared port

Reasons to go for the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion

    • Higher display refresh rate – 144 Hz
    • Waterproof body (IP68 classification), the Poco is only IP54
    • Ready for eSIM technology

I would think the Edge 50 Fusion has much better cameras, as that's not a strong suit of that Poco; also, as the Edge 50 Fusion has a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, it would likely be compatible with and might be improved in some areas against the stock cam app with a Gcam (Google Camera) port. It will be interesting to see how they fare.

It's also a stock feeling OS, vs poco / xiaomi, big factor for some (edited)

Is this the edge 40 neo replacement?
    litwoojczyznomoj's avatar
Since they haven't released Neo this time round and 50 Fusion is now the cheapest of the Moto Edge series lot you can probably say that it is Neos replacement in a way.

Looks very similar specs wise to the neo edge 40. Did a quick compare of the socs which is a step up rather than a leap. Ships with Android 14 whilst the Neo is still waiting.

I know the Neo could be had recently for £219 at John Lewis (though most places is seems £244).

Having purchased from Motorola direct before I can say they were abject at dealing with an issue. Personally I'd chance waiting on further offers on the Neo 40 (which I did buy and so far so good).

    No gorilla glass? Wouldn't bother.

Although a great phone, it's missing many features and for a few extra quid you can get the honor 90 (12gb/512gb) with gorilla glass.

Not a bad price. But people should also consider the Poco X6 with almost identical specs.

Currently being sold on AliExpress for around £153:

Or if you're not keen on ordering from China can be had for about £220-230 on Amazon and Xiaomi UK's own website.
