Max Payne Bundle (1 & 2)

Max Payne

Steam Deck Status (Platinum)

Metacritic (89)

Max Payne is a man with nothing to lose in the violent, cold urban night. A fugitive undercover cop framed for murder, hunted by cops and the mob, Max is a man with his back against the wall, fighting a battle he cannot hope to win. Max Payne is a relentless story-driven game about a man on the edge, fighting to clear his name while struggling to uncover the truth about his slain family amongst a myriad of plot-twists and twisted thugs in the gritty bowels of New York during the century's worst blizzard.

The groundbreaking original cinematic action-shooter, Max Payne introduced the concept of Bullet Time® in videogames. Through its stylish slow-motion gunplay combined with a dark and twisted story, Max Payne redefined the action-shooter genre.

Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne

Steam Deck Status (Platinum)

Metacritic (86)

Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne is a violent, film-noir love story. Dark, tragic and intense, the in-depth story is a thrill-ride of shocking twists and revelations.

His life in ruins, Max Payne finds himself back in the NYPD. During a routine murder investigation he runs into Mona Sax, a woman he thought dead, a femme fatale murder suspect. She holds the keys to the questions that haunt him. But nothing is simple in the dark and tragic night of New York City. An army of underworld thugs stands between Max and the answers he seeks. His journey deeper into his own personal hell continues.

Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne delivers an intense gameplay experience. It features fierce, yet stylish action sequences and the slow-motion gunplay that has become synonymous with the Max Payne series.

Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition

Niko Bellic, Johnny Klebitz and Luis Lopez all have one thing in common - they live in the worst city in America. Liberty City worships money and status, and is heaven for those who have them and a living nightmare for those who don't.

The Complete Edition includes Grand Theft Auto IV and the Episodes – The Lost and Damned & The Ballad of Gay Tony.

Steam Deck Status (Gold)

Reviews:

Metacritic (90)

Niko is looking to escape his past and make a new life for himself in the land of opportunity. Johnny, a veteran member of The Lost biker gang, is caught in the middle of a vicious turf war with rival gangs for control of the city. Luis, part-time hoodlum and full-time assistant to legendary nightclub impresario Tony Prince (a.k.a. “Gay Tony”), is struggling with the competing loyalties of family and friends in a world in which everyone has a price. Their lives cross paths with devastating consequences as they fight to survive in a city torn apart by violence and corruption.

Have you checked out some of the stuff on the games community tab? Theres a guy there who compiled a large patch of HD texture mods and bug fixes for the original game that was never fixed/patched out by the dev team.

Should fix a lot of issues.

If anyone plans on playing Max Payne 1, ensure you track down the all in one patch that fixes basically everything. The game is almost unplayable without the patch.

It fixes framerate, resolution issues, and sound issues.

I'd say this is worth buying before they potentially remove it from the store when the remake arrives

I enjoyed Max Payne back in the day, very good game. Got stuck on a bit where you had to run through a burning restaurant or bar, just couldn't do it, had to get a cheat.

GTA IV is brilliant on steam deck especially when modded with better textures.

Can get it running with most things on high and 60fps but if you want better battery and cooler operation 40fps still feels really good
