they are both pretty close. samsung has better battery and arguably design but the redmi has a better camera, IP54 water resistance, better charging speeds, 2 sim card slots and it's a bigger sized phone (edited)

Bought one a few weeks ago for the same price, great value and more than enough for everyday use. Nice Amoled display and good battery life. Still waiting on the update to HyperOS and Android 14 though.

Just remember these phones are cheap for a reason. Lots of bloatware and ads which you can remove with some tinkering

I've had this for about 3 weeks. No ads at all so far.
Took about 5 minutes to click through and uninstall most of the bloatware. The ones that it wouldn't let me uninstall are all just moved into a bloatware folder and don't seem to have affected performance.
Only thing I have noticed is there is an app for changing the screensaver and it asks me if I want to change mine about once a week. I could probably figure out how to make it stop but I'm not too bothered
